I would like a midwife to have an at home birth, inside of water

I would like a homebirth but am open to a birthing center. We are committed to having a natural, physiological birth.

I would like to have a non-medicated water birth in my home. I would Like for the umbellical cord to stay in place for as long as it lives. I plan to use Tricare insurance to pay for a certified nurse midwife on this journey. This is my first birth, but I’m considered high risk given that I’m 44 years old. I have a dear friend who will act as a doula and my husband will be present.

I would like more info on having a home birth. Our budget is tight, and I’m not sure what “rates” are for home birth deliveries. I’ve always been on the fence about home births, but our current insurance (husband’s) is extremely expensive for what we can afford. Also, I am considered high risk due to my weight, but so far no concerns with the baby otherwise. This is my second pregnancy, and in the last week (around 38-39 weeks) I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension. Otherwise I had a healthy first pregnancy, and so far this pregnancy is healthy as well.

I would really like to give birth at home. Budget depends on if I can use my insurance or not but price isn't really a deal-breaker. I delivered my first son naturally at the hospital after being induced at 40 weeks due to nerves of his size (was told he'd probably be about 6 lbs but was actually 8). We lost him at 6 weeks old to SIDS and I wasn't thrilled with the hospital / post-partuim care. With not a lot of family in the area, I'm really looking for support.
