About me

Hello! I'm Andrea. I'm Oregon grown and after 6 years away, my husband and I have moved back to The Rogue Valley and I'm so excited to serve families here! I'm blessed with a large family and have the privilege of loving and doting on close to 30 nieces, nephews and other little ones. I've always been around babies, seen my loved ones go through pregnancies and admired the process, but the doula seed was planted after getting to be more directly involved with one of my goddaughter's entrances into the world in 2020. I fell in love with the strength, the ebb and flow, the literal labor of love. I also saw how scary the unknowns and certain aspects of the journey can be and I knew I wanted to help in some way. After a bit of research, I found what I want to be when I grow up! A doula! I started studying with Birth Arts International and the rest is history. In 2022 I decided to continue my education as a postnatal doula through Women’s Choice Perinatal. Along my doula journey I’ve gotten to build community with so many amazing birth workers and joined The Reno Doula Co-op in 2023. I've worked in caregiving capacities most of my adult life and feel I'm exactly where I need to be. I believe everyone deserves a compassionate and loving birth experience. My goal is to be accessible and reach as many people as possible to help your birth experience be the best it can be through you-centric care and support. Every person embarking on childbirth deserves to have someone in their corner, there for them no matter what, to guide and assist them in making educated choices about their pregnancy, birth experience and parenthood, and to remind them that they can trust the strength of their bodies and minds during this time. As a doula, I aim to bring compassionate, client-centered care and remind every client how empowered they are! Outside of birth work, you can find me spending time with family, playing with the littles, grabbing coffee and walking the river with friends, or traveling whenever and wherever I can. I’m also a huge theater geek (you should see the one-man Hamilton show I put on in my car) and Trekky nerd. I enjoy genuine honest connection and could talk for hours about what makes a person light up.

Service introduction

For my birth support services I offer getting together twice to get to know each other, go over your birth preferences, address your questions or concerns, and go over some birth prep to help you feel more prepared for your labor. Each visit is about an hour or two and I can also use one of these prenatal sessions to help you with anything you need. Whether it's getting your home ready for your new arrival or a ride to the store, I got you. Aside from these two visits, I'll also be available to go with you to an appointment with your care provider. I believe this helps ensure everyone is informed and on the same page to give you the best possible care. I’ll also be available via text or calling during specified hours from the moment you hire me as your doula until our contract is complete. My on-call period begins 2 weeks prior to your due date until your angel's arrival. This means, I’m available and ready to come support you in labor 24 hours a day. When that time comes, I'll meet you at your birth place and remain by your side for any emotional and physical support you and your family need. About a week to a month after birth, we can schedule a postpartum session to check in about how you and baby are adjusting. During our visit, I'm also happy to help out with whatever support you may need at the time. I like to describe doulas as the parenthood BFF you've always wanted. As a postpartum doula, I am here to help ease this stage of parenthood and transition, whether this is your first, third or tenth. The first three months after birth are sometimes referred to as the 4th trimester and it's just as important as the rest! This is the time for you to bond with your baby, for your family to get to know it's newest member and adjust to y'all's new normal. With support options available ranging from 4 hours to 50+, we'll discuss your needs and come up with a personalized support plan tailored to meet the needs of you and your new family. Some of what I offer as a postpartum doula is diapering support, feeding support, baby wearing assistance, meal prep, errands, companionship, light housekeeping, help with other kiddos and pets, and a judgment free zone for all the emotions and ups and downs that can come with this time of adjustment. For both my birth and postnatal services you’ll also receive evidence based and unbiased resources tailored specifically for you and your specific needs or situation.

I had the most spectacular experience with my pregnancy and delivery, all thanks to a huge part of Andrea's care and help. Her demeanor is professional with just the right touch of home. She goes above and beyond to get you any information you need. She uses her resources and all her energy to make sure you have a calm mind throughout the entirety of your experience. Andrea's calm demeanor and witty jokes made me feel home and safe, though I was in a hospital room. She encouraged me to speak my truth and ask questions to the nursing staff at Carson Tahoe Hospital. I cannot wait to be pregnant again. Thank you Andrea for going above and beyond for not just myself and my daughter, but for my husband as well. You did mental checks with him as well as with me. You made sure we both had drinks and nourishment. You truly made her journey into this world memorable.

I would definitely hire Andrea as my doula again or recommend her to any friends!! She was a kind calming presence through my pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Her knowledge of holistic interventions to keep me going through labor was invaluable. She frequently checked on me through my pregnancy and offered a listening ear as well as solutions for any discomforts I was experiencing! Andy is one of a kind!

Andrea was such a helpful and calming process for my delivery. Asking questions when I forgot and nothing but attentive throughout. I'm really glad we choose to have her for our rainbow baby's delivery.
