Want someone to coach me and give tips on how to prepare for my birth

I’m planning on giving birth at a hospital. This is my first pregnancy so I am a bit confused and unsure where to start.

1. At home 2. I have medical insurance due to disability and low income. 3. I have 2 kids at home and would like to be home when I deliver.

First time mom/parents getting increasingly worried about our lack of knowledge of childbirth while hearing so many horror stories about the malpractices of doctors in labor and delivery. Wanting to learn. Wanting an advocate. Wanting to avoid an epidural but not sure if I will be able to! Our budget isn’t huge. We are low income. But don’t know the typical rates and will try to work out any reasonable rate for our income.

I plan on giving birth at the Vassar brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie. My estimated budget is anywhere from 2500 to 3500. My birth plan is flexible at this point. I’m still trying to decide what’s best for me. I’m not opposed to a medicated plan. I would like the Doula to be certified and to have at least 2 to 3 years of experience. I want a doula that is well educated in birth delivery and can be present to make sure everything in my birth plan is followed while I'm in labor! Beforehand I would like a doula that can tell me the changes in my body in my third trimester, and what actions I need to take to make birth easier to cope with!
