Hi, my name is Avalina! and I’m a DONA birth doula in training based in the New Orleans/slidell area. I’ve always been really drawn to birth work and how different and meaningful every experience is. I’ve completed my training and I’m continuing to learn and grow in this work, and I truly love being able to support women through such an important moment in their lives. My approach is calm, warm, and down-to-earth. I focus on creating a judgment free space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. whether that’s through reassurance & encouragement, physical support, or just being a steady presence during labor. My goal is to help you feel a little more at ease and not alone in it. When I’m not learning more about birth work, I enjoy collecting vinyl records, playing instruments, baking, and spending time with family and friends. 🤍

I offer support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, starting with a complimentary consultation and 2 prenatal meetings to discuss your birth preferences, postpartum plans, and ways to help you feel prepared. I also provide unlimited phone and text support, on-call availability, and guidance for both physical and emotional preparation, including newborn care and creating a birth plan that reflects your wishes. During labor, I offer continuous emotional and physical support using comfort measures, encouragement, and grounding techniques to help you stay calm and supported (and maybe a few prayers along the way, if that’s something you’d like🤍) while also helping you communicate with your care team and navigate decisions as they come up. After birth, I continue to support you through recovery, feeding, newborn care, and the early postpartum transition, including follow-up check-ins and a postpartum home visit.
