I am planning for a hospital or birthing center. I am wanting someone o help me throughout the pregnancy to understand what is going on, as well as be there for the birth and advocate for me while I am in a vulnerable spot and not fully comfortable with the medical system. I am hoping for a natural birth (non medicated).

Hi! This is my first pregnancy and delivery. I am planning to give birth at Advent Health’s UChicago at Hinsdale. I was looking for doula services that would be covered by my Medicaid’s BCBS Community health insurance. My hope is to have a vaginal delivery. I believe a doula can be my source of the much needed guidance, assistance, and strength I’ll require experiencing labor and delivery for the first time. Giving birth in a hospital. I am just wanting someone to be my voice when I feel defeated. This is my second and my birth plan wasn’t followed the first time.

I plan on giving birth in the hospital. I want to try and give birth naturally and without an epidural. This would be my second kid and my birth plan for my first was not followed at all and I felt pressured to take a medicine to help induce me (and then to take Pitocin).

Hi! I wanted to share a little about the support I’m hoping for during labor. I’d really like to try for an unmedicated birth if possible, so having help with breathing, positioning, and counter pressure during contractions would mean a lot. My priorities are being able to move freely, delivering in the position I choose, delayed cord clamping, and keeping interventions minimal if everything is safe. I’d also love a calm, dark, peaceful environment. My pregnancy has IUGR, so there’s a chance I may need to deliver earlier than expected. I’m hoping for someone who can support me emotionally, help advocate for me if needed, and also guide my partner on how he can best support me during labor. I’m planning to use Medicaid/Blue Cross Community if possible, and I also wanted to ask if it would be possible to be matched with a Caucasian doula for my own comfort. Thank you! 🤍

Looking to give birth at Prentice Women's Hospital in the city. I'd like to go a mostly natural birthing route, but would like the hospital environment for the "just in case" piece of birth. I am a first time mom and my husband and I want someone who we can get to know well, and who will spend time with us answering all of our questions. We have vaccine questions, we want to do delayed cord clamping, we would like a vaginal birth (unless dangerous for me or baby), we would like skin to skin immediately, we would like to try to not be induced if that's possible. I'm not needing a fully unmedicated birth but want to go as long as possible without any epidural or any intervention of that sort.
