I need an in person lactation consultant that can help me with baby. From 9-12 baby gets fussy on the breast and is always showing hunger cues. I check my breasts to see if I have milk and I do. So I have to resort to feed her with one bottle at times even when my breasts are producing milk.

I want to be able to nurse my baby and not have him be nipple confused with his bottles and mhmy breasts.

My baby is 5 months of age, teething, and he’s been getting distracted and/or refusing bottles at times, although we have some techniques to help him drink his bottles. I’ve been mostly nursing him, and he also receives supplementation of formula daily and sometimes pumped breastmilk (combo-feeding). Right now, we’re going to have to do more bottle feeding to make sure that he’s getting enough milk, and I’m going to have to be pumping more. I’m looking for a doula (who accepts Kern Family Health Care insurance plan) for some help, mainly some help with light chores, like washing bottle/feeding stuff, laundry (mainly baby stuff and some of my stuff that I wash with his, like blouses, sweaters, nursing covers, etc.), and a bit of meal prep (I’m vegan and eat plant-based). My husband works 4 days of the week, and helps me when he gets home and on his days off. We live with my parents who are older. I’m doing most tasks by myself when he’s not home, so some help for a couple of hours or so on days when he’s working would be helpful. I’m also looking for a lactation consultant, so if you’re both, please let me know, or if you’re a lactation consultant who accepts my insurance plan. Thank you. :)

I plan to give birth at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. I was hoping Insurance would cover the costs of getting a doula - but if not, i'm not sure what the range of budgets should even be for doulas. I would like to labor as long as possible without an epidural and avoid tearing if possible and/or C-section if not medically necessary.

Hospital with my obgyn I really don’t know the average price for this because I didn’t explore this with my first born but I had a traumatic experience. I am high risk, on several medications. I need someone well versed in medical interventions and hopefully with my health conditions as well so that they can help advocate for me during birth. Last time my husband and mom were there and I was in so much pain, I felt like no one heard me and no one spoke up for me. I want to try for unmedicated vaginal birth( first birth was vaginal but with an epidural) least amount of interventions as possible, but I’m always willing to hear the doctors point of view on why they recommend something. I just need someone on my side who can help ask questions and help me decide when I’m not mentally able to do it on my own.
