From the very beginning, Barbara made me feel heard, supported, and genuinely cared for. It was clear that she truly wanted me to have a positive birth experience and was committed to making sure both my husband and I felt prepared for what was ahead. She provided us with a very thorough childbirth education course, and we walked away feeling much more knowledgeable, confident, and prepared for labor and delivery. She was incredibly informative and took the time to make sure we understood what to expect.
When it was finally time to deliver, Barbara was by my side the entire time. I labored for hours, and her presence made such a difference. She was patient, kind, reassuring, and a tremendous advocate for me throughout the entire process. She knew my birth plan well and made sure my preferences were understood and supported. Whenever I needed something, she was there to help, offer comfort, or simply reassure me when I needed peace of mind.
Barbara was also incredibly well prepared. She made sure my delivery room felt calm, peaceful, and welcoming, and she came equipped with the tools and resources to help create a comfortable environment. Her attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and ability to anticipate my needs made me feel cared for every step of the way.
Having someone like Barbara in my corner during such a vulnerable and life changing experience was truly invaluable. As a first time mom, there were naturally so many unknowns, but she helped ease my worries and gave me the confidence and reassurance I needed. Her compassion, patience, knowledge, and genuine dedication to her clients make her an exceptional doula.

The education she provided made a world of difference. She helped me understand what to expect, prepared us for the many decisions that come with labor, and gave my husband the knowledge and confidence to be an informed, supportive birth partner. She was always available to answer questions and helped us feel empowered instead of overwhelmed.
I originally hired a doula because I was terrified of giving birth. As a first-time mom, my biggest goal was simply not to come away feeling traumatized. I never imagined that the birth of our child would become one of the most cherished memories of my life. Barb played such a huge role in making that possible.
During labor, she was especially invaluable in helping us understand our options and make informed decisions about the timing of comfort measures and interventions. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Barbara. From the very beginning, she invested so much time and care into understanding our needs—spending at least five hours with us before the big day to help us create and feel confident about our birth plan. When labor began, she was fully committed to honoring that plan and ensuring we felt supported every step of the way.
Her techniques for pain management were a lifesaver—hip squeezes, aromatherapy, using a tennis ball for back relief, and perfectly timed hot and cold towels. At one point, even the nurse stepped aside and asked her to take the lead during pushing—a true testament to her skill, presence, and confidence.

We hired Barbara to help us with our birth experience for our first child, and it was hands down the best decision we made in preparing for our delivery. Barbara is extremely knowledgeable, supportive, emotionally intelligent, and knows how to advocate for her clients. She is compassionate and very nurturing, but was also able to be firm and direct when it was needed and appropriate.
We took a childbirth education course with Barbara several months before our due date, which was very informative and helpful. We also developed a birth plan with her. She came to my 36 week visit with my OBGYN, so that she could help me ask questions of our doctor and go over the birth plan with our doctor. She was very responsive throughout my pregnancy to any questions I had.
When the big day came, Barbara helped a ton with delivery related comfort measures. She communicated a lot of the medical information to me and our support people in more plain english terms, and helped guide us in our understanding of how the birth was evolving medically. Her expert attention really helped fill in the gaps for us, when medical staff were less available to explain. She also did an amazing job with managing the various emotions I and our support party were going through over the course of my labor. She even accompanied me to the OR when I ended up needing a C-section for medical reasons, and her steady nature helped me to get through surgery and remain calm.
We had a great experience with Barbara and highly recommend using her services.

Barbara became my doula from the early half of my pregnancy and guided me through the end. She met with me to determine what kind of birthing plan I ideally would like to aim for, and provided these helpful cards to envision different situations that might arise. As I progressed in the pregnancy, she would often check and give me insights and tips on the different pregnancy symptoms I was experiencing. When I went into labor, she was incredibly helpful with navigating the contraction pains with hands-on methods as well as breathing techniques and tools. She also was so helpful in tracking contractions when I didn't have the headspace to do so. Her support truly helped me envision and result in my ideal type of labor and delivery, and we are so grateful for her support!

Working with Barbara was great! She was a back up doula and when our original doula contracted COVID, Barbara stepped in without a hitch. She provided great guidance via text while I was in early labor at home. Then, when I was in active labor at the birth center, she immediately jumped in providing physical and emotional support. It was also super special that she made a poem of my birth story that she shared postpartum. It gave a record of events that I was in no shape to capture in the moment, and I’ll likely read that poem to my daughter as she grows up <3
