We have friends and family able to provide occasional support, but my husband and I are worried that we may need extra support following the birth of our second child. I plan on having a natural delivery (not a planned c-section). My last birth was fairly smooth (laughing gas for pain, episiotomy and vacuum delivery, home from hospital after 2 night stay), so I am hoping for a similar experience. Our budget is quite flexible, we know we will need the help, we estimated maybe up to $100 a day or $300 a week? It's hard to guess how much help we will need, but want to be ready for worst case scenario.

We will be giving birth at Sentara Leigh Hospital, ideally without an epidural. We are most concerned with getting reasonable sleep for the first 8-13 weeks and would like a night nurse for 4-5 nights a week for the first 4 weeks, and the. 3 nights a week for the next 8-10 weeks depending on the need. Other postpartum services that would be helpful would be some lactation consulting and referrals to Pelvic floor physical therapy and being an advocate for the mother. Estimated budget for a night nurse would be $30-35 an hour for 9 hours a night

Hello! My husband and I are seeing a private OB currently. We are planning for a hospital birth. We are looking for someone who can provide support to myself(patient) but also my husband. We have a strong faith and believe birthing is a miracle but would love to have a well experienced support system in the room with us from beginning to end. To help calm those nerves, talk us through situations and be a guidance. Also to help voice our wants/needs while in the hospital. Going into it I am hoping for a vaginal delivery, possibly unmedicated. However will assess the situation when it comes. I would love some natural holistic approaches as well.

We are first time parents who Don't really have a support system and we just want to make sure we have a great pregnancy to term as it's been so far.
