Jessica is looking for Midwife, Birth Doula
|
Location: Greenbrier, TN 37073, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: September 01, 2026
I will most likely need a hospital birth. I have had gestational diabetes for both of my children. I also hemorrhaged pp after my second. I want to avoid intervention as much as possible. I believe Pitocin and possibly the epidural had a hand in my hemorrhaging. I believe I can manage my gd by nutrition. I was induced 39 weeks and 1 day the first birth and 39 and 6 days for the second. I need help finding an OB that will be willing to let me progress as much as I can without intervention. I am not sure what to expect on price so I am willing to see what is offered. |

1. Plan to give birth at UIHC most likely planned c section related to previous full term loss. 2. $1500-$1750 Budget 3. A planned C-section birth plan focused on creating a "gentle" or family-centered experience by requesting preferences like dimmed lights, music, a clear drape to view the birth, immediate skin-to-skin contact, and delayed cord clamping. Gentle C-Section Plan: Environment: Request dimmed lights, a quiet room, or to play your own playlist. Support: Designate your partner or support person to be present. Comfort: Request IV lines, blood pressure cuffs, and EKG leads be placed on your non-dominant arm to allow for easier holding of the baby. Visualization: Ask for a clear drape (or to have the mirror/screen lowered) to see the baby being born. During the Birth Communication: Ask the staff to explain what is happening, and consider requesting they tell you when they are ready to begin. Skin-to-Skin: Request immediate skin-to-skin contact in the operating room (OR) if no medical issues arise. Cord Clamping: Ask for delayed cord clamping, allowing the cord to stop pulsing before it is cut. Bonding: Request that the baby stays with you while the incision is being sutured, rather than going immediately to a warmer. Immediately After Procedures: Request that newborn assessments (weighing, measuring, cleaning) be delayed until after your first hour of skin-to-skin bonding. Feeding: Express your desire to breastfeed in the operating room or recovery room. Cord Care: Mention if you plan to keep the placenta. Looking for a compassionate doula who has experience supporting moms with previous infant loss and traumatic birth experiences |
