I am a lifelong Alaskan who discovered my love for birth and women’s health in nursing school. In addition to being a Certified Postpartum Doula of 18 years, I am also a Licensed Home Birth Midwife (licensed by the Medical Board of California) and Newborn Care Specialist. I am fully insured and Trustline Registry approved (CA background check) I am current with Neonatal resuscitation, infant and CPR certifications. I have over 18 years of experience providing postpartum doula support, with a large portion of my work focused specifically on overnight care for newborns and first-time parents including preemies, twins and triplets. My role during night shifts is to prioritize both infant safety and parental rest, handling all newborn care overnight (feeding support, soothing, diapering, settling, and monitoring), while also supporting parents in learning their baby’s cues and milestones. My goal is that parents wake feeling rested, reassured, and more confident each day.

Adonica Shaw is a Certified International Health Coach, doula, student midwife, and patient advocate. As the founder and CEO of Wingwomen, she's a powerful voice for women who are navigating their reproductive health. She built the platform after a Preeclampsia diagnosis in 2017. The experience later became a catalyst for creating the telehealth company which also provides access to health coaching to women with Endometriosis and PCOS. As a women's health advocate, she serves on the Birth Equity Accountability through Measurement (BEAM) Advisory Panel on the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). She is a Patient Advocate for the Preeclampsia Foundation and Momma’s Voices where she regularly collaborates with institutions like Stanford Medicine and the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative to drive awareness for initiatives around Preeclampsia and maternal health.

I believe in supporting the natural processes of birth. After having my 3 children at home I was drawn to becoming a midwife to make sure that families continue to have access to safe nurturing pregnancy care options. I have been a midwife since late 2021 with a 10 year history as a labor and delivery nurse prior to becoming a midwife. I am an advocate for natural, physiologic birth.
