I am looking to give birth at the Trinity Health Family Birth Center in Ann Arbor. I would like to find a doula that could help me advocate for the unmedicated, calm, quiet birth of my dreams. My ideal birth would feel peaceful and empowering, with as minimal interruptions as possible. I would also like to breastfeed, so support in that area would be a huge bonus!

I have been exclusively breastfeeding since my son’s birth and it’s gone great, had some issues with a slacker boob but seemed to get back. Now it seems like my son latches and pulls off fussing like he’s not getting enough where i’m switching to each boob every couple minutes and it seems like my supply is low. I never really got into pumping i tried and have a very small stash but now when i try i cannot even cover the bottom of the bottle with milk. and i’ve had to give my son “top off” bottles but my supply is only 1-2oz which is not enough so im going through it already..

I am planning to give birth at Alma Hospital and am currently looking for a supportive, knowledgeable doula to assist me through labor and delivery. My birth plan is simple and focused on having a safe, healthy delivery for both myself and my baby. I am open to guidance, education, and support throughout the process, especially in managing pain, understanding my options, and advocating for my needs during labor. I am hoping to work with a doula who is certified and experienced in hospital births. Experience with first-time or low-intervention births is a plus. A calm, supportive, and reassuring presence is very important to me. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff are also key. There are no special requirements in terms of additional duties such as cooking, cleaning, or postpartum household support. My primary focus is labor and delivery support, along with breastfeeding and latching support. The care recipient is myself and my newborn. There are no known special needs at this time. I am planning to decide on feeding breastfeeding and bottle feeding and would appreciate a doula who can provide guidance or resources if needed. My budget is based on what my insurance will cover. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and I would like assistance understanding what services may be eligible for coverage or reimbursement. Overall, I am looking for someone who will help me feel confident, supported, and informed during one of the most important experiences of my life.

Hello Rachel, I hope this finds you well. My baby is due to come soon. (Nov 23rd) but I'm interested in possibly switching providers. Would you be willing to discuss my options with you? I am 35 weeks as tomorrow (October 19th) I do have Gestational Diabetes (I manage through diet) and I'm 42 years old. My current OB has just scheduled me for my induction and I'm not very happy with the process. This will be my 2nd delivery. My 1st pregnancy I also had GD and had to be induced. First time mom, giving birth at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. No budget, as our insurance covers doula and lactation care. I want to avoid the cascade of intervention as best we can (including induction). I am not opposed to medication however, I do want to give birth as naturally as possible. I know my pain tolerance is low, so I anticipate there's a possibility of wanting an epidural. I want: -delayed cord clamping -skin to skin, golden hour after birth -vaginal delivery -circumcision (having a boy) Don't want: -baby out of mom and dad's sight after birth unless medically necessary -induction interventions unless medically necessary -bottle formula for baby -forceps/vacuum
