Global Midwifery Fee SWLA

All prenatal care including visits, labs, and 2 ultrasounds done in your home. All birth supplies and any needed medications. On call support, birth attendance, filing of the birth certificate, and social security card application. 3+ Postpartum visits until 6 weeks after birth. Routine screenings and care for healthy newborns.

Global Fee For SETX

In Texas, the initial appointment, initial labs, and postpartum Pap smear can all be done by the midwife. In addition, standing orders allow me to prescribe medications for nausea and antibiotics for certain infections. This means care starts typically starts sooner and has a larger scope. Texas clients are usually an hour drive from me and tend to be more spread out. These are the main reasons for the fee increase.

What to expect

During pregnancy I offer in home prenatal visits every 4 weeks, eventually leading up to weekly visits at the end of pregnancy. All standard labs are done in your home, typically 3 sets. An ultrasound is done at your initial visit and at 32 weeks. A referral is sent for a detailed anatomy scan and is the only thing not included in the fee. All supplies for home/water birth are provided.

Bridget was amazing! We met through the small midwifery community here at Fort Polk when I was 36 weeks pregnant. She was waiting on her license to come through for Louisiana and then we could officially start working together. I officially became her patient when I was 38 weeks fully expecting to have my baby by 39 weeks because that was my track record. Well 39 weeks came and went and then 40 weeks and then my son arrived at 40+3. Bridget was there for me through the emotional ups and downs of waiting, it was so so nice having her come to my house every week and get to know me and my family in such a short amount of time. She was always professional, supportive, and caring. My home birth was absolutely perfect, it was everything I wanted for my last birth experience as this pregnancy completed our family but if I had the chance to have another home birth I would do it with her again.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a discount for hiring a midwife later in pregnancy?

No. The bulk of time committed to your family falls at the end of pregnancy, during birth, and postpartum. We also spend extra time building trust and a relationship when coming into care later.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely! Midwifery care is an investment and I don’t expect everyone to have the full fee upfront. However, it must be paid in full by 37 weeks. I am very flexible with how payments are split up.

Are you a safe, competent provider?

Yes! My training was very thorough. I also have a circle of very experienced midwife peers to consult with as needed. As a newer solo midwife, I always try to have another licensed midwife attend births with me when possible. Safety is my top priority.

Is everything you offer required?

No, all care is based on informed decision making. Almost everything can be declined, exceptions to this are fetal monitoring in labor and regular visits.
