We’re expecting our first baby, due late December / early January- 12/31, and we’re looking for an experienced, certified Newborn Care Specialist for overnight support starting when we come home from the hospital. We live in [personal details hidden] in Boston. Schedule: 2-3 nights a week, about 10pm–7am for roughly 6 weeks. Because of the due date, the start date needs some flexibility, and we’ll need coverage through the holidays. Feeding: We plan to breastfeed. We’d like the baby brought to mom for night feeds, with a pumped bottle for one feed so she can get a longer stretch of sleep. Lactation experience is a plus. Sleep goals: We’d like help building healthy sleep habits and gradually lengthening night stretches, always following AAP safe-sleep guidelines. As first-time parents, we’d really value someone who teaches us along the way, including a quick morning handoff on how the night went. First baby, planning for a hospital birth at MGH in Boston. Hoping to find someone who accepts BCBS insurance (supposedly I have doula coverage). My goal is a vaginal delivery, I am leaning towards an epidural, but willing to see how things progress. Budget $2,000. “ Doula services are covered for both home and hospital births. The coverage limit is $2,000 per rolling 9-month period, starting when the first claim is received. Coverage is subject to clinical appropriateness and is applied at the in-network level; out-of-network providers are paid up to the in-network level.”

Hospital birth As natural as possible but [personal details hidden]-[personal details hidden]-being seen by MFM Plan to use insurance Birth plan: epidural or possibly not, laboring down as much as long as possible allowing fetal ejection reflex to hopefully take place so minimal pushing. I declined the use of a forceps/suction assisted birth. C section is also still on the table. Want to move about freely or if there’s an epidural in place assistance moving, do not want to birth on my back. Minimal vaccines, delaying schedule and not doing all of them. Must be the preservative free vitamin k shot and if not available then drops only. Delayed cord clamping until white or not pulsating. Baby stays in room with us at all times for all tests etc.. plan to breast feed.

Second baby, delivering at Mount Auburn with the Midwives, looking for someone to support me and my partner with in-home labor ahead of labor in the hospital.
