Hello, I’m looking for a doula or midwife to help me Prepare for a natural birth. I need help in understanding my rights for birth and someone who can help encourage me at that moment and advocate for me. Currently I am 26 weeks Pregnant . Also it’s just me and my husband in this country, we don’t have any support here , so a warm and kind person to support us would be really helpful. Since it’s my first pregnancy and in a new country I am currently clueless, along with this, I don’t have any family support. So truly some emotional support along with birth prep is what I need. Also we live in burquitlam, but my husband and I are willing to travel if need be. Budget is no problem. We would like a home birth/ water birth but open to a hospital one. I plan do give birth at a hospital. I would like to use my Anthem blue cross Prudent Byer PPO insurance. I am being induced on Dec 18th, because of placental insufficiency and growth restriction due to a Down syndrome diagnosis. I plan to get an epidural, so I am ready to go if we need a C-section. I will be 37 weeks pregnant with our first baby. I plan to have my husband and my mother in the room with me during the induction process. I would also like to breastfeed.

We are using the Legacy midwives and would like a birthing doula who can support myself and my husband with this being our first baby. Providing physical support during the labor and delivery such as pain relief options and tips for my husband to help support me is what we'd like from the doula and midwives. Also providing emotional support for both of us. We want minimal interventions during the labor and delivery process. Our insurance doesn't cover doula services so we are hoping for a student doula or spending around $250-$500. We can he flexible if our price range is too low.
