We’re looking for birth and possibly postpartum support for a hospital birth for our first child. Ideally, we are looking to utilize our insurance to assist with cost coverage. My birth plan is not yet fixed, but hoping to lean more on the natural side of things. We are especially interested in doulas who have a Christian faith background.

I plan on an unmedicated, vaginas birth with lots of movement and finding ways to feel comfortable. I do like the idea of a tub but am not committed. I plan to give birth at UVA in Charlottesville, Virginia. I would like a Doula to meet me in my home before I go into the hospital. First time mom, giving birth at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. No budget, as our insurance covers doula and lactation care. John Hopkins Hospital Price: $1,800-2,000 My goal is to have an Unmedicated birth. This will be baby #2 for us. I had a pretty bad experience with my first where my wishes and concerns were completely ignored. I really wish I had someone there to advocate for me when I couldn’t think clearly, my nurse was very evil person and caused a lot of pain and negativity while I was in labor. I get back labor, and the pain is so unbearable I’d really need someone to help me cope and push through! I’d also love a doula who is very informative on certain things hospitals tend to force mothers into. Would love if my doula were seasoned with At least 4 years of experience. I had a very hard time with postpartum recovery which I believe hindered me from being able to breastfeed since I was under so much stress. I would really love to breastfeed this time around.
