We are postpartum nurses who empower you to have a fourth trimester where you feel safe, prepared and empowered. With so much emphasis during pregnancy on childbirth and baby care, it often leaves little room left for YOU. We teach you what to expect for postpartum before you're in it. And give you the community to cheer you on when you are there.

Hi! We are Carly and Megan, postpartum and newborn RNs, founders of Fourth Trimester Foundations. We believe you are just as important postpartum as you were during pregnancy. We believe that you deserve to feel prepared and supported as you enter into parenthood. We teach self-paced and virtual postpartum preparation courses to parents during pregnancy so they can have a safe and empowered start of their fourth trimesters. We also teach a short baby care basics course for pregnant or parents with newborns. In addition to our courses, we offer 1:1 support calls. During a single call or bundle of multiple, we can cover anything you'd like in terms of yourself during pregnancy, postpartum or newborn life.

Taking Back Your Fourth Trimester

If you're currently pregnant and wanting to prepare for an empowered fourth trimester, this workshop is for you! This 2.5 hour workshop will cover everything that happens to your postpartum body from the moment your baby is born until a few days after birth. Whether you plan to have your baby at home, in a birth center or at the hospital, this class is universally relevant. Major topics include packing your bags, golden hour, postpartum bleeding, managing pain, what emergent situations can look like, breast care, managing sleep deprivation and so much more. By the end of this class you'll have all the tools you need to plan for the fourth trimester you deserve, no matter what your birth looks like. Within this workshop you'll find: Video units to work through at your own pace. Action items at the end of each section to help you focus your prep. Additional resources if you'd like to learn more about a topic. Handouts/worksheets created just for you. Shopping lists and packing lists. Bare Minimum Baby

Are you currently putting together a baby registry and realizing there's a heck of a lot of options? How are you supposed to sort through what's necessary and what's extra? And when do you get to add things for yourself to the list? Bare Minimum Baby is a 30-minute mini course designed to give you the "bare minimum" of what you need to bring home and safely care for your baby. Our goal with this course is to help you narrow down the list so you can make room for more things that *really* matter, like a postpartum doula, lactation consultants and pelvic floor physical therapy. Because seriously, mothers need to be mothered, too. Time to take back that registry! Within this workshop you'll find: Video units to work through at your own pace. 1:1 RN Support Call

One, 30-minute video call with a postpartum/mother baby Registered Nurse (BSN, RN) to discuss you, your baby and your pregnancy or postpartum journey. There are no qualifiers for booking this call. If you've got a couple of specific questions that need to be talked through with a nurse, this is the place for you. Expecting a baby soon and want to talk through last minute details with us? We’re on it. Have you just finished our workshop and have some follow up questions? We'd love to chat. Returning to work soon and need some help figuring out a game plan? We're all over that. Got that six week postpartum clearance and don't know where the heck to go from there? Been there, we can help! Take advantage of 30 minutes with a postpartum registered nurse at your (virtual) fingertips and lets chat! If you know you have several topics you'd like to work through with us or you'd like to keep us close for a longer period of time (like through your fourth trimester, for instance), you'll find it helpful to book one of our bundled 1:1 packages: either 3 or 6 calls at a discounted price.
