Bringing a baby into your life can be a beautiful yet, overwhelming experience. I've been a doula for 11 years and counting, so I've been doing this long enough to know that every family is different. Because of that, I like to get to know the families I work with so that I can support them in a way that is specific to their individual needs. I do not make the decisions for parents or tell them what to do, I empower them to have the confidence in their own parental decisions with evidenced based information, care and empathy. On top of being a doula, I'm a Childbirth educator, Certified Lactation Counselor, Nutritionist, Holistic Health Coach, Certified Sports Nutrition Coach, and Personal Trainer with specialties in pelvic floor, core health, prenatal and postpartum fitness. I bring all of my skills to families to support them in the way that is specific to their needs.

Woodbridge Township, New Jersey
I provide compassionate, evidence-based doula support for expectant families seeking an empowered and holistic birth experience. I specialize in prenatal education, continuous labor support, and postpartum care, ensuring that birthing individuals and their families feel informed, nurtured, and confident throughout their journey. My hope is to create a calm, supportive, and judgment-free space where families can embrace birth with trust, strength, and peace. Whether you desire hands-on comfort techniques, advocacy in a hospital setting, or emotional reassurance in your home birth, Ivy Haven Birthwork is dedicated to honoring your unique path to parenthood.
Working with Ivy Haven Birthwork was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. From the very beginning, I felt so seen, heard, and genuinely supported. This wasn’t just about information or checklists — it was about having someone walk beside me with calm, grounded presence every step of the way. Throughout my pregnancy, I always felt like I had a safe space to ask questions, process emotions, and explore my birth preferences without any judgment. Every visit left me feeling more prepared, more empowered, and more connected to my body and my baby. During labor and birth, Ivy Haven showed up with such quiet strength and intuition — anticipating what I needed before I even had to ask. Whether it was hands-on comfort, encouraging words, or just holding space, the support was everything I hoped for and more. I truly don’t know how I would have navigated it all without that presence. And postpartum… wow. Having someone check in on me — not just the baby — made all the difference. Ivy held space for my recovery, my questions, my tears, and my joy. From helping with practical tips to simply sitting and listening, I felt truly cared for in those tender first weeks. Now, with my baby girl nearly four months old, I still carry the strength and grounding I gained from my experience with Ivy. I’m endlessly grateful.

I set out to become a birth doula over 25 years ago after becoming a massage therapist, but I put this career goal on hold until my children became adults. I finally achieved my goal and became certified as a birth doula this year. As a seasoned massage therapist, I offer a broad understanding of a person's physical and emotional needs, especially during this special time as you prepare your body for the birth of your baby.
I honestly can’t say enough good things about Elyse. From the very first time we spoke, I knew she was the right doula for me. I decided to have a baby on my own through IUI, and I wanted someone by my side who had real experience and a calm, comforting energy — not just a family member. Elyse was actually the first and only doula I interviewed because I just knew she was a perfect fit. She took the time to clearly explain what she does, what to expect, and answered every question I had with such patience. She was easy to reach any time, day or night, and made everything feel like a friendly connection rather than a formal arrangement. She sent me so much helpful information — both in person and through endless, thoughtful emails — that I could go through at my own pace. When it came time for labor, she let me make the call about when to go in and supported every decision without question. She was gentle, kind, and encouraging, and she advocated for me the entire time. She stayed by my side through it all — even long after she needed to — and continued checking in on me and the baby afterward while we were still in the hospital. We’d planned for her to come by for a home visit, but I completely forgot about the appointment. She patiently waited in her car for 45 minutes before reaching me, and instead of being upset, she left me a sweet gift and suggested we meet another time. When the baby and I came over to her house, she welcomed us so warmly it felt like visiting a friend. We talked about the birth, life, everything — and even went for a walk together. Elyse is professional, knowledgeable, and truly one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet. She has this warmth that makes you feel like you’ve known her forever. I would never consider another doula — and I’d recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat. Everyone deserves to experience her magic.

Hello, my name is Katia Almada, and I’m a certified birth and postpartum doula dedicated to helping families feel supported, confident, and cared for as they welcome their new baby. Through my practice, Golden Hour Doula, I offer compassionate, evidence-based support during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My goal is to create a calm, nurturing environment where parents can focus on bonding with their baby, recovering peacefully, and feeling empowered in their journey into parenthood.
Katia has been my postpartum doula and caregiver for my baby boy since February 2025. She consistently takes initiative in ways that truly lighten my load as a new mom. One moment that stands out was when she noticed I was juggling baby care and chores—without me even asking, she washed the baby's clothes and bedsheets, took out the trash, and even helped cut vegetables for dinner. She always notices what needs to be done and jumps in with such care and thoughtfulness—it’s clear she’s not just doing a job, but genuinely wants to support and nurture. This was my first baby, and I had never used a doula service before, so I was initially skeptical and a bit anxious about having someone new in our home during such a vulnerable and emotional time. But from the very beginning, Katia made me feel at ease. Although she has extensive experience with babies, she remains open and flexible—listening carefully to my needs and respecting our preferences. She remembered all the little things I mentioned and adapted her care accordingly. Even now, with my baby being 8 months old, I still turn to Katia when I need someone trustworthy to watch him for a few hours. That’s how much confidence and comfort she’s brought to our family. Both my husband and I are deeply grateful for her help—having Katia as our doula has been such a positive and reassuring experience. She made a lasting impact on our early journey as parents, and any family would be incredibly lucky to have her by their side.

Jaymie is a proud mother of two. After having a VBAC with a doula she decided that a doula was instrumental in having her voice heard during the time of birth. She knew that empowering women during their pregnancy and allowing them to find their voice was something that she was passionate about. Helping families find the calm within using mindfulness, meditation and breath work is only some of the techniques used to manage labor. Going through and utilizing spinning babies and the rebozo are helpful tools in the birthing space. Whether clients want a natural unmediated birth, or the use of an epidural I am happy to help you get the birth you desire and support you through your decision making process. Always remember… your birth… your choice… your voice! It is an honor and a privilege to be part of your birth team. Jaymie would love to set up some to talk and see if you are a good fit:)

Hello! I’m Gabrielle. A little bit about me and what sets me apart: I am an Ayurvedic birth and postpartum doula, an Holistic Pregnancy and Birth Practitioner (HPBP), and I am in my final year of a Master of Science degree in Integrative Medicine and Ayurveda Health. And, aside from all of that, I have been a career nanny for over a decade with experience working with moms and postpartum. My knowledge of this ancient wisdom of Ayurveda allows me to bring a unique approach to your postpartum by focusing on nourishment, healing, rest, + bonding. My focus is to hold you so you can hold your baby. As we enter into this sacred journey together, know that my intention during every stage is done with the utmost reverence and respect for the art of bringing new life into the world, and I am merely a bystander in your new journey to motherhood. I am so looking forward to serving you.
Gabrielle is an absolute star! My husband and I met her when I was about 5 or 6 months pregnant and stayed in touch and close until the birth of our baby girl. We’d settled on a postpartum care package which quickly began to involve overnight support and general help / care for our newborn. It was clear from the moment we met Gabrielle that her sound judgment, introspection, and thoughtfulness as a human being made up the essence of her work. Frankly, we wanted no one else around helping us and being around our new little addition to the family. Our trust in her was immense from the get go. Gabrielle is warm, generous, wise beyond her years, and always there to respect and communicate through a parent’s journey. She is honest and prizes true matches with families - like us, she is all about connecting on a deeper level. Gabrielle believes deeply in the positive of fostering positive and nurturing energy - she has a true commitment to her passion of supporting families in the greatest of life’s adventures! We have come to greatly prize her authenticity, reliability and genuine love of children (in this case, our little baby girl!). We hope this is only the beginning of years of collaboration and work with Gabrielle!

I’m Clarissa Alves, born on September 21, 2001, in the heart of the Bronx, New York. Now, I live in New Jersey with my wonderful husband, who is my rock, and our two wild, magical toddler daughters who remind me daily of the beauty and chaos of life. I’m a wife, a mother, and a lover of life. My husband is my anchor, my safe place, and the steady rhythm in the background of all my adventures. Our daughters, with their boundless energy and free spirits, have taught me to live fully in the present, to surrender to the natural flow of life, and to find joy in the smallest moments. They are my greatest teachers. When I’m not nurturing my family, I lose myself in the things that bring me joy. Music, movies, arts, and crafts have always been a part of my life. I have always been drawn to creativity and expression, finding beauty in handmade things and stories that move the soul. I am also deeply passionate about human rights, especially intactivism, children’s well-being, and the protection of reproductive and birth rights. I believe in the power of informed choice, respect for bodily autonomy, and the right of every person to receive the care and support they deserve. Motherhood has been a transformative journey for me, filled with love, loss, and incredible resilience. Both of my daughters are rainbow babies, born after the pain of miscarriage. Through the heartbreak of recurring pregnancy loss, I learned just how sacred and fragile life is. My pregnancies were further complicated by hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), a debilitating illness that goes far beyond morning sickness. It left me drained, struggling, and often feeling like I had lost control of my own body. But I wasn’t alone. My doula was there, holding space for me when I felt powerless, reminding me that even in the hardest moments, my body carried deep wisdom. She supported me through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, offering unwavering care, comfort, and knowledge. Because of her, I became the first in my family to experience a vaginal birth and the first to breastfeed exclusively. Breastfeeding became such an important part of my journey that while nursing my own baby, I was able to donate over 10,000 ounces of breast milk to nourish others. The love and guidance I received through my own experiences shaped my path forward. I knew I wanted to offer that same support to others, to walk alongside birthing people through the most raw, sacred, and transformative moments of their lives. Each birth I have attended has only deepened that calling, solidifying my passion for this work. There is nothing more humbling than witnessing the strength, power, and vulnerability of birth, and it is an honor to be a part of that journey.

I will try to put into words the feelings I have, in an attempt to express my gratitude to Renée. Firstly, I would not have been successful without her. She believed in me, my body, my ability even when I questioned it. She knew what to do at every step- from our first conversation to the leading up to the birth, to actual birth & right after. Thank you for helping me at home as well. You just knew exactly what to do & coached me through it in a kind, gentle way (even when others were nervous you knew how to handle them too ;). Knew what to do to progress labor and when to move to hospital. I don’t know how Renée remained so present with me during the hospital delivery. A million people screaming at me- I focused on what she said. She just knew. 30 mins in L&D and baby was here. This was thanks to her cues. I would not have known what was happening without the cues Renée taught me. And after birth, helping us with immediate nursing & taking pictures!
