My plan is to deliver vaginally with as little invention as possible. I am open to Nitrous gas while pushing but I’d really like to avoid epidural at all. I am more interested in 4th trimester care as I’d like to breast feed.

We are most concerned with getting reasonable sleep for the first 8-13 weeks and would like a night nurse for 4-5 nights a week for the first 4 weeks, and the. 3 nights a week for the next 8-10 weeks depending on the need. Other postpartum services that would be helpful would be some lactation consulting and referrals to Pelvic floor physical therapy and being an advocate for the mother. Estimated budget for a night nurse would be $30-35 an hour for 9 hours a night

I’m due in just a few short weeks and would love to find a doula who is able to help me accomplish my birth preferences: - reduce likelihood of c-section, and other intervention, continuous professional support, hoping for maximal pain relief support since I don't want an epidural - help with the first feed - to have someone in my corner to translate medical jargon, relieving sense of unknown. - unless medically indicated, I plan to spend early labor at home to stay relaxed and hydrated in a familiar setting - I prefer to avoid Pitocin or artificial rupture of membranes unless there is a clear medical necessity - I wish to use upright or gravity-neutral positions for pushing to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of tearing - Immediately after birth, I request immediate skin-to-skin contact and delayed cord clamping (until it stops pulsing) - I plan to exclusively breastfeed and wish for all initial assessments to be done while the baby is on my chest if possible.
