Hi Nathalie, Our little girl has been having some issues at the breast since the day she was born on July 21st. She either is a) too comfortable that she falls asleep or b) too irritated that she won’t take. The great thing is her mom is producing a great amount of colostrum and her milk has started coming in. We just came home from the hospital for the first time on July 24th evening and had a rough night with our daughter crying and unwilling to feed. At the hospital, she did lose 12% of her body weight which caused us to stay an extra night and monitor her feeding. We had to top up her feeds with formula as well as pumped colostrum/milk but my wife would love to exclusively breastfeed and bottle feed later with beast milk. If not possible, of course open to it just not as the first option. I am looking for help with birth positions, back massage, provide tens machine, peanut ball, and guidance to me and my husband. Guiding us through the process to enjoy it as much as possible. It is our first baby. Preferably medically educated, experienced and non-religious doula. Someone kind, warm, and caring would be great.

Hello, I'm actually the best friend to the mom. My name is Danielle & I live in Edmonton. My best friend, Christina, lives in Port Moody. She doesn't have any partner support and needs post-partum help so she can do her basic tasks of daily living i.e. sleep. She would also I'm sure appreciate any help with household tasks as well. To answer some of your other questions, Christina only speaks English so English and I am not sure if she has a minimum for years of experience, Christina is a first time mom, and doing so independently, as such a doula with experience I think would be really helpful. I'm not sure of the budget estimate, because to be honest, I have no idea the price of doula services.

We want a provider who has done this for at least a couple years, is certified in CPR and is okay with dogs (my border collie mix is super friendly but if you're allergic then we won't be a good fit!) Lord willing, I will give birth to our third-born this October in Langley, BC, canada. I plan to give birth at my parents little cottage at the back of their property. Need some training on caring for the child during first week

I’m looking for a doula to help care after birth. I plan to give birth at a hospital in Maple Ridge. I’m seeking for a doula who can help with the new born such as massage , feeding along with cooking ( Vegetarian) and light cleaning . I would like to have someone 4 days a week for the first few weeks and then 2 -3 days per week. My budget is 1500$. Looking forward to hearing from you. Malini

I plan to give birth at NRGH and my family doctor is an OBGYN so he will be my provider throught my pregnancy. I hope to give birth vaginally with some kind of medical pain management however its important to me that I be able to move around and Id rather not give birth on my back. Im looking into doula support because I would like to have help advocating for myself and some guidance through the birth process. I am historically a pretty anxious person and have previously experienced pregnancy loss. I dont exactly know what budget I should have Im just trying to get a read on prices? I dont have a whole lot of expendable income and would be absolutely willing to have a new/student doula. My sibling is a new doula and Ive seen how hard it was for them to get the first couple families so I have a soft spot for those starting out!
