About Destinee

I'm a daytime newborn care specialist serving Charlotte, Matthews, and Ballantyne. I've worked with families for eight years as a certified birth and postpartum doula through the International Doula Institute, and for the last five years I've focused solely on newborn care. I care for babies 0-18months during the day, helping with feeding, sleep, bathing, diapering, and soothing, so you can rest, recover, or get a few things done. My philosophy is simple, you're already a great parent, and great parents know when to ask for help. I'm not here to take over. I follow your lead, share what I know when it's useful, and help you feel more confident with your baby each week. Many families come to me tired and unsure, and my goal is for you to have a calm home, a well cared for baby, and time to take care of yourself.

What to expect

I offer daytime in home newborn care for babies under 0-18months in Charlotte, Matthews, and Ballantyne. Shifts are usually five hours, and families book anywhere from one to five days a week. While I'm there, I take care of everything baby related: feeding (bottle feeding or bringing baby to you for nursing), diaper changes, baths, naps, tummy time, and soothing. I also keep things tidy as I go, washing bottles and pump parts, folding baby laundry, and restocking the changing area. Parents use this time however they need it, whether that's sleeping, recovering from birth, working from home, or caring for older children. I keep a simple daily log of feeds, diapers, and sleep so you always know how the day went. Care can start in the first weeks home or later, when you're heading back to work. Receipts can be provided for Dependent Care FSA reimbursement.

I cannot say enough good things about Destinee. Our daughter loves her so much, and there’s nobody I feel more comfortable leaving her with, day or night. I am a type A parent who has a hard time letting go of control, and Destinee was the only person I trusted with my baby other than my husband for over a year. She was and continues to be so helpful to our family!
