I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with more than 25 years experience. I have worked internationally to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding/chestfeeding. My strong clinical skills are coupled with program development, evaluation, and not-for-profit experience. My unique skill set allows me to offer a comprehensive healthcare approach to families. Family-centred care is the cornerstone of my service. I adopt a holistic approach to understand all factors that may impact the breastfeeding dyad, and I strive to provide culturally concordant healthcare. A lactation consultant is an essential member of a prenatal and family healthcare team. They play a pivotal role in infant feeding, particularly breastfeeding. I can support families in preparing to breastfeed, address feeding challenges (including supplementation), and offer continued guidance until weaning. I strive to protect maternal-child health, promote emotional well-being, and empower families to navigate the complexities of breastfeeding. Furthermore, my dedication to family-centred healthcare was strengthened when I completed a Diploma in Herbal Medicine from England. I offer one-on-one herbal consultations to mothers in the perinatal period. During the consultation, mothers are given a space to express their current health concerns.

My journey into lactation consulting began over 25 years ago when I encountered significant breastfeeding challenges with my first daughter. Through education, patience, and perseverance, I breastfed her successfully for more than two years—an experience that ignited my passion for lactation medicine. I completed my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant studies in the United States, building on a strong academic foundation: Master of Science in Medical Anthropology from the University of Toronto. I offer a comprehensive, evidence-based approach that integrates clinical techniques, ensuring families receive care that respects their beliefs, traditions, and unique circumstances. I am available for in-home and virtual consultations.
