My OB says there is a 20% chance she'll be in the room for delivery, apparently that's average. I want someone in the room who is there to uphold my wishes and birth plan. I want a natural birth. I funny want to clamp the cord until it spots pulsing. I'm on the fence about vitamin k. I don't want my baby to be bathed right away, or taken from me. I don't consent to the eye treatment they put on baby, or any vaccines. We are planning to give birth at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue and are looking for postpartum doula support to help us transition into life with our new baby. We are hoping to utilize our insurance benefits for postpartum doula services, so we would prefer a provider who is experienced with insurance reimbursement or can provide the necessary documentation for us to submit to insurance. Our main priorities are practical, hands-on support during the postpartum period. Help with light cleaning, tidying, laundry, and especially preparing simple, nutritious meals would be greatly appreciated. We would also value guidance and support as new parents, including newborn care, feeding support, establishing routines, and general postpartum education. We are looking for a certified and experienced postpartum doula who is warm, patient, reliable, and comfortable working with new parents. We are open to different levels of experience and would appreciate someone who can communicate clearly in English. Additional language skills are a plus but are not required. The care recipient will be our newborn baby, along with support for the birthing parent during postpartum recovery. We are expecting a healthy newborn and do not currently anticipate any special medical needs. We would appreciate support with newborn feeding, soothing, diapering, sleep routines, and helping us feel more confident caring for our baby. Our estimated budget will depend on what is covered by insurance, and we are hoping to maximize our available postpartum doula benefits. Just found out I'm pregnant, and I'm looking for a doula who can be by my side during prenatal and during birth. My husband gets queasy and faints at the sight of blood, so I need an active helper by my side! I hope to give birth at the Everett Providence Hospital vaginally with pain relief meds, but I do want centering and holistic birthing practices used as well. I'm only 6 weeks pregnant, so I don't have too many details figured out, but with this being my first pregnancy, having a large support team is important to me. I would like to establish a relationship with a doula before birth so that I know somewhat what to expect in care during birth and post-birth. I am also interested in home visits post-taking the baby home so that I can make sure I can shower and such while the baby is looked after. We are looking for an experienced postpartum doula/night nurse to provide some additional support for our newborn daughter, Joni. Joni was born five weeks early on August 3 and is doing great. Because she was premature, experience caring for newborns and ideally preemies is important to us. We currently have a wonderful night nurse four nights a week (Sunday–Wednesday) through the first week of October. We are potentially looking to add one additional night of overnight support each week on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. We are also looking for daytime support 1–2 days per week, particularly once my husband returns to work on September 8. During the day, we are currently triple feeding every three hours (breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and pumping), so an extra set of hands would be incredibly helpful. Support could include preparing and washing bottles and pump parts, helping with light baby-related dishes and laundry, assisting during feeds, and caring for Joni while I rest or nap during one of her sleep windows. At night, we modify our feeding routine so that I can pump every 3–4 hours while the caregiver handles Joni’s bottle feeds and newborn care. We are looking for someone who is warm, reliable, and very comfortable with newborn care. Infant CPR certification and significant newborn experience are strongly preferred. Experience with premature babies, postpartum support, and breastfeeding/pumping families would be a big plus. Our schedule has some flexibility, and we would be happy to discuss which daytime hours and/or overnight shift work best. Our estimated budget is $50–$75/hour depending on experience, certifications, and whether the shift is daytime or overnight.
