Days and hours needed: Daily, evening hours (roughly dinner time through bedtime), for about 2 to 4 weeks, starting after the baby arrives. Extra duties: - Warming up dinner - Prepping my son's lunch for the next school day - Checking that his homework is done - Light cleaning: vacuuming kitchen/dining area, tidying common rooms - Taking out trash and recycling - Running a load of laundry as needed - Occasionally watching the baby while I shower - Help restocking postpartum/baby supplies, freezing pumped milk and washing pump parts, and grabbing nursing snacks/drinks I keep on hand My husband will be home during these hours too. We just want an extra set of hands so neither of us is stuck doing chores instead of resting or spending time with the kids. Budget: $35 to $40/hour, depending on experience.

I am planning to give birth in a hospital and am looking for a certified doula who accepts or is familiar with TRICARE Prime coverage. I'm not sure what to expect regarding the cost, so I am hoping to find someone whose services are covered by TRICARE or eligible for reimbursement. I am due on November 20, 2026. My birth plan is to try a low-dose epidural at first, with the option to increase it if needed. My goal is to have the best pain relief possible while maintaining safety for me and my baby. I prefer to avoid Pitocin unless it is medically necessary. I would also like to avoid giving birth flat on my back if possible and would prefer to labor and deliver in side-lying or other upright, supported positions as appropriate. After birth, I would like delayed cord clamping, to leave the vernix on my baby rather than wiping it off immediately, and to have uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact with either me or the baby's father for about the first hour before routine newborn assessments, provided my baby is healthy and does not require urgent medical care. I would prefer to delay the hospital bath and decline routine eye ointment unless it is medically necessary or required. I understand that my birth preferences may need to change if there is a medical concern for me or my baby. I am looking for a certified doula with at least 10 years of experience supporting hospital births. I am 28 years old, this is my first pregnancy, and I plan to breastfeed if possible but am open to supplementing with formula if medically necessary. I would also appreciate postpartum support, including newborn education, breastfeeding guidance, and sleep training support after my baby is born. Most importantly, I am looking for a doula who complements my husband's role rather than replaces it. I'm looking for a patient-centered doula who can advocate for my needs on delivery day. I want an easeful, peaceful birth where I can feel like my needs are fully heard. I haven't had the best experience with my Kaiser doctors thus far. I'll be delivering at Kaiser Sunset (I am a Kaiser patient so would need someone who takes KP insurance). Birth plan is low intervention/no rush, epidural.

My goal for this birth is to have a calm, natural, and empowering experience with as few medical interventions as possible. My first preference is a planned home birth, with a birth center as my second choice if home birth is not appropriate. I would like to have an unmedicated labor and birth, with the freedom to move around, change positions, use comfort measures, and listen to my body throughout labor. I would like my doula/midwife to provide continuous emotional and physical support, encouragement, and guidance while helping me feel informed and involved in decisions throughout the process. I want to create a peaceful environment where I can feel safe, supported, and confident in my ability to birth my baby. I understand that plans may need to change if a medical concern arises, and I am open to transferring to a hospital if it becomes necessary for my or my baby’s safety. My priority is a healthy baby and a healthy mother while preserving as much of the natural, low-intervention birth experience as safely possible.
