First baby, planning a hospital birth at Kaiser SF. Hoping for an unmedicated birth. I am looking for an experienced Doula who can support me physically, emotionally and spiritually. Someone who is experienced in birth support, and who feels capable of holding the most sacred, steady energy with me to birth in a hospital, which is not my first choice but is supported by my doctor and midwives I asked because I have ITP (low platelets) and they both feel birthing in hospital is safest. I'm a sensitive and strong person, I want the least amount of intervention possible, and I thrive with caring, steady support. I am hoping to work through Kaiser insurance for at least partial coverage.

I’m planning on an unmedicated birth at Mercy Folsom in Folsom, CA. This is my first baby. I’ve been doing prenatal yoga, read books on unmedicated/home births, and my sister had her baby at home; but would love to have hands-on guidance from a doula and emotional and physical support during our birth. My husband is on board for helping however he can but will certainly need guidance as well. I’m comfortable self-advocating but would love to have someone with experience to consult with and lean on when questions and options come up during labor. We also recently discovered I have an accessory placenta which might need to be manually removed if it doesn’t come out with the main placenta. I would like to talk about options with that as well. My budget is no more than $2000 but ideally closer to $1500.

Who the care is for: Our family. I will have a newborn daughter (due date around December 2026, possibly November if she arrives early) and I have an 8 year old son. I will be recovering postpartum and want to stay focused on bonding with the baby without getting pulled into household tasks. Days and hours needed: Daily, evening hours (roughly dinner time through bedtime), for about 2 to 4 weeks, starting after the baby arrives. Flexible on exact timing, happy to adjust as our routine settles. Extra duties: - Warming up dinner - Prepping my son's lunch for the next school day - Checking that his homework is done - Light cleaning: vacuuming kitchen/dining area, tidying common rooms - Taking out trash and recycling - Running a load of laundry as needed - Occasionally watching the baby while I shower - Help restocking postpartum/baby supplies, freezing pumped milk and washing pump parts, and grabbing nursing snacks/drinks I keep on hand My husband will be home during these hours too. We just want an extra set of hands so neither of us is stuck doing chores instead of resting or spending time with the kids. Budget: $35 to $40/hour, depending on experience.

This is my first pregnancy, and I am planning a hospital birth in the Bay Area. I am looking for a birth doula who can educate my husband and me about our options and help me develop a birth plan based on my goals and circumstances. I have not yet decided whether I want an epidural or an unmedicated birth, so I would like someone who provides balanced, evidence-based information without pushing one particular type of birth. During labor, I would like support with breathing, relaxation, movement, different labor and pushing positions, massage, counterpressure, and other comfort techniques. I also want someone who will actively involve my husband, teach him how to support me, and help both of us remain calm and understand what is happening. It would be helpful if the doula offered prenatal meetings to practice labor positions and comfort techniques and discuss interventions such as induction, epidurals, assisted delivery, and Cesarean birth. Experience supporting hospital births, inductions, epidurals, unmedicated labor, and unexpected changes is important to me. I am also interested in pregnancy-safe exercises and pelvic-floor and birth preparation. Please let me know if this is part of your training and services, or if you collaborate with a pelvic-floor physical therapist. I am looking for someone warm, practical, nonjudgmental, and comfortable helping me ask questions and communicate my preferences to the medical team while remaining flexible if the safest plan changes.

Hi! We're having our first baby and I'd love support advocating for myself and my baby. I'm delivering at Marin General and my main priority is postpartum support but as a former athlete, I know I'd benefit from coaching during labor too. I'm planning on a vaginal delivery. For the home, I'd like assistance with nursing and napping, taking care of myself and infant development in the first two weeks to maximize these early days for all. I have Anthem Blue Cross PPO plan.
