First-time mom planning a hospital birth at Pomona Valley Hospital and looking for a birth/postpartum doula with a practical, evidence-based approach. I would like support during pregnancy with education, preparing for labor, helping me understand my options, and creating a birth plan/preferences document. During labor, I’m looking for someone calm and supportive who can help me advocate for myself, ask questions, and help me process decisions without pressure unless medically necessary. Postpartum support is my biggest priority. I would like help with recovery, breastfeeding/pumping support, newborn guidance, emotional reassurance, and preparing to return to work as an [personal details hidden]. I am hoping to breastfeed/pump and would value someone knowledgeable about lactation and pumping for working moms. I am open to holistic approaches as long as they are grounded in research and evidence-based care. I am not looking for an anti-medical approach and am comfortable with hospital care and interventions when medically necessary. I would prefer someone experienced with first-time moms and familiar with Pomona Valley Hospital or the surrounding area (La Verne/Claremont/Upland/Pomona).

We are expecting our first baby around March 2, 2027 and are looking for overnight newborn support approximately 2 nights per week for the first 8–12 weeks postpartum. Ideally, we would like 10–12 hour overnight shifts and can be somewhat flexible on which two nights each week. Our main priority is safe, experienced newborn care overnight so we can get meaningful rest. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with feeding support, diaper changes, burping, soothing, settling the baby back to sleep, bottle washing/prep, and helping establish healthy newborn sleep habits when developmentally appropriate. We are open to either an experienced postpartum doula or Newborn Care Specialist and would prefer someone with newborn-specific training, CPR certification, strong references, and several years of experience. We are not looking for heavy housekeeping or cooking. Baby-related cleanup and light bottle/laundry support would be helpful. We are currently comparing providers and would like to understand your hourly or overnight rate, minimum shift requirements, and any package pricing for recurring 2-night-per-week support.

Estimated Budget: I am looking for a doula whose services are fully covered by my Kaiser insurance plan who also has TIN and NPI. Birth Plan: I intend to utilize standard labor and delivery care at a Kaiser facility, coordinating with my medical team and my doula for a supported birth experience.Provider Requirements: The provider must be a Tagalog-speaking doula with some experience, and they must be officially contracted with Kaiser Permanente to ensure my insurance covers the cost. Second daughter is arriving December 7th. We were unaware, until very recently, that Kaiser has Doula services within our benefits during the arrival of our first born in March 2025. So currently exploring and outreaching for consultations to be able to work with someone for birth prep, labor support, and post partum in person in Montebello California with delivery in Kaiser on Sunset in Los Angeles.

I will be delivering at Pomona Valley or Huntington Pasadena, likely in December, possibly early January. I am insured by IEHP Direct through Medi-Cal. I want as natural birth as possible in the sense that I only want medical intervention if it is absolutely necessary (no induction, no episiotomy etc). I am going in expecting to need an epidural but am also open to the idea of being unmedicated. I am looking for someone to assist with pain management and advocacy while in labor and for education in early/postpartum care for my baby (tips/tricks/lactation/mama stomach wrapping). I would like someone with no less than 3 years of experience and is possibly able to assist with postpartum care at home.

First baby - hoping for low interventions and unmedicated. Not sure if I am ready to commit to unmedicated though. Either way, I'd like to stay unmedicated as long as possible/as long as is safe. I have somewhat of a distrust of doctors and want someone who knows the data on when things are necessary, and when things are not necessary.
