I’ve filled out the form but I know my insurance does not cover Lactation Support. We were wondering if you only work through insurance or have an out of pocket services. We have been dealing with a very refluxy baby, a heavy letdown, and oversupplying milk. With also the goal to add some bottle feeding sessions through the day and night. Plan on giving birth at the hospital, I have blue shield promise which will cover doula coats hopefully as I cannot afford. Hopefully I can find a doula who is open minded, helpful, and willing to pass on knowledge as this is my first child.

I had my second baby boy in December 2025 and returned to work at the end of April. Prior to returning to work I was exclusively breastfeeding and I had an oversupply. Shortly after my return to work my eldest son was hospitalized for two weeks and my supply dropped. About my work schedule: I’m a crisis therapist and I work 3 x 12 hr shifts a week and then I’m home for four days and I nurse when home.

I am planning to give birth in a hospital and am looking for a certified doula who accepts or is familiar with TRICARE Prime coverage. I'm not sure what to expect regarding the cost, so I am hoping to find someone whose services are covered by TRICARE or eligible for reimbursement. I am due on November 20, 2026. My birth plan is to try a low-dose epidural at first, with the option to increase it if needed. My goal is to have the best pain relief possible while maintaining safety for me and my baby. I prefer to avoid Pitocin unless it is medically necessary. I would also like to avoid giving birth flat on my back if possible and would prefer to labor and deliver in side-lying or other upright, supported positions as appropriate. During labor, I would like to use comfort measures such as a birth ball, peanut ball, and squat bar, and I prefer intermittent fetal monitoring if it is safe for me and my baby. After birth, I would like delayed cord clamping, to leave the vernix on my baby rather than wiping it off immediately, and to have uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact with either me or the baby's father for about the first hour before routine newborn assessments, provided my baby is healthy and does not require urgent medical care. I would prefer to delay the hospital bath and decline routine eye ointment unless it is medically necessary or required. I understand that my birth preferences may need to change if there is a medical concern for me or my baby. I am looking for a certified doula with at least 10 years of experience supporting hospital births. I am 28 years old, this is my first pregnancy, and I plan to breastfeed if possible but am open to supplementing with formula if medically necessary. I would also appreciate postpartum support, including newborn education, breastfeeding guidance, and sleep training support after my baby is born. Most importantly, I am looking for a doula who complements my husband's role rather than replaces it. As first-time parents, we want someone who can help create a calm, low-stress environment, guide my husband on ways to comfort and support me during labor, and empower us to work together as a team throughout the birth experience.
