I am a first time mom planning to give birth at Kaiser Walnut Creek. I have Kaiser HMO insurance that I plan to use to cover the cost of doula services. My birth goal is to have a healthy baby with limited medical intervention, if possible.

1. Give birth at a hospital with a midwife or an OB, depending on the on-call schedule 2. Hoping to use insurance for a lactation consultant. 3. I want to book an appointment in advance with a lactation consultant given how hard I heard latching can be. I also want to prepare to pump and breast-feed at the same time so that I get support from my partner to give the bottle and also transitioning into work more easily while still maintaining the benefits of breast-feeding.
