I am a first time mom planning to give birth at Kaiser Walnut Creek. I have Kaiser HMO insurance that I plan to use to cover the cost of doula services. My birth goal is to have a healthy baby with limited medical intervention, if possible.

I also want to prepare to pump and breast-feed at the same time so that I get support from my partner to give the bottle and also transitioning into work more easily while still maintaining the benefits of breast-feeding.

I would like help with pumping. I am exclusively pumping and feeding breastmilk to baby, however I’m realizing that I’m not fully prepared. I’ve only recently realized that my flange size was incorrect and was using the wrong flange for about a week before finally making a switch. We are starting to pump more and store more milk and I have questions on how to safely store my breast milk and as well as why one side seems to be pumping more than the other and if that has to do with me pumping incorrectly or just my supply…

I am planning to give birth in a hospital. My goal is to have a natural birth with an epidural. At the same time, I am open to any medical recommendations necessary to ensure the health and safety of both myself and the baby. I would also love to build an ongoing relationship with a doula who can continue to support me during the postpartum period, including education around lactation and breastfeeding. We are covered by Carrot Insurance and Kaiser, so it would be wonderful if you accept either of these.

Hi there! I am looking for a lactation consultation to work with me and my 3 week old baby boy. I’m noticing some difficulty with his latch, recessed chin, jaw quivering, and breathing difficulties (gasping for air when feeding) and would love to get some support for how to address these issues.
