Needs to work with Tricare west- they mention that authorized doulas must meet specific certification, training, and experience requirements, including certification from approved organizations like DONA, CAPPA, or ICEA, and signing a participation agreement. Overall would like to get some preparation before/after birth + assistance during birth.

We plan to give birth at Southern Hills Hospital off sunset and the 215. I’m not entirely sure what our budget would be. I’m just starting my research on Doulas and feel this is definitely a route we would like to go. Ideally I would prefer an unmedicated vaginal birth. Unfortunately I do have genital herpes so depending on if I’m experiencing an outbreak at the time of delivery I might need to have a c-section. If a vaginal birth is able to happen there are things we would like such as delayed cord clamping, no bath, and most likely oral vitamin K versus shot. I would love my delivery to be a pleasant experience as possible; calm environment, minimal checks, etc. My husband is a very calm person in high stress situations but has a hard time with soft motivation. I love him dearly but he’s very business like when it comes to prep talks. I would love a Doula that can fill in for the emotional support that might be lacking during delivery.

Planning to give birth to my third baby at trinity health muskegon. Would like birth support for extra advocacy, postpartum support as I'm a graduate student, and need lactation support as I had failed exclusively breast feeding with my first two despite wanting to breast feed. I'm currently unsure of budget. I go with the flow in terms of birth. I had epidurals the first two times but would prefer not to. I'm not opposed to an epidural but would prefer to give birth pain medication free.
