I’m planning a home birth I currently live in Toronto Ontario however I’m moving to Coburg Ontario. I cannot find a Midwife that has space and availability to take me and so therefore I am considering a free birth or an unassisted birth. I am a single parent and can spend up to $1000 on this birth if needed.

1- my plan is to give birth in our home located in Quakertown 2- my budget is between 5k to 6k 3- I want a peaceful and quiet birth, where I can labor quietly, no pool, family members present and potentially my children as well. I would love to have my Christian music played in the background. This will be my second home birth. My first experience was amazing ! I anticipate this experience will also be incredible ! I don’t have many other request for my birth lab at this time. My main concern of finding a midwife that aligns with our beliefs as well as a midwife that can accommodate for our large family present.

I will most likely be giving birth in the hospital naturally with little to no intervention. I want to know what to expect and what to prepare for to help with the laboring process. I would like to be able to move around during labor and have access to different positions. We want delayed cord clamping and to take the placenta home.

I’m exploring the option of a homebirth. I have previously given birth naturally in hospitals with midwives twice. I barely made it on my last birth. And I’m farther away from the hospital now where I live. The drive is what makes me nervous in the birthing process. I have wanted to do a homebirth but been nervous about if there was an emergency how it would be handled in a home setting. I would want to be with a midwife who took pretty low risk if an emergency. I’m not concerned about budget, I’m just wanting to find the right fit of a midwife if I go the homebirth route.

I am looking for a midwife or midwife practice that can come alongside me in a hospital setting. I am planning a natural and physiological approach to birth and desire midwives who are knowledgeable and fully supportive of that desire. True and genuine complications aside, I don’t want unnecessary interventions or checks and am hoping that there are midwives out there that are well suited for these wishes. I was originally set to deliver in the Bryn mawr lifecycle birthing center, but unfortunately they are shutting down their facility after almost 50 years. This caused me to have to change up my plans at 23 weeks pregnant. I feel very stressed about that considering I was looking forward to being out of the hospital. As someone who is low risk, I’m still hoping I can have my dream birth even if that means being in the hospital.
