About Gianna

My name is Gianna Alston, and I am a DONA trained professional birth doula born and raised right here in the Triangle! I proudly offer independent birth doula services in addition to serving my community as a volunteer birth doula with Best Baby Wake. I approach every journey with warmth, respect, an open mind and open arms. My role is to create a calm and supportive space that allows you to become comfortable trusting yourself, your instinct and your body. All while making sure you feel informed, supported, heard and empowered to make the decisions YOU feel are best for you and your growing family. With a background in CNA and certifications in CPR and First Aid for adult and pediatric care, I remain calm and grounded if plans shift unexpectedly. I thoughtfully search for and support alternatives while supporting your birth preferences, helping you create harmony between the medical environment and your personal birth vision. I also am a certified safe sleep ambassador, allowing me to continue to support families with evidence-based education as you transition into life with your newborn(s).

What to expect

All packages include a complimentary meet and greet/consultation, at least 2 prenatal visits, at least 1 postpartum visit, text support, continuous labor support, birth and 4th trimester planning and review, partner coaching/guidance, and a new parent gift.

Monday-Friday 7am-9pm Saturday and Sunday 11am-10pm For emergencies, please call 911 FIRST For urgent calls and texts, you can expect a call or text back in about an hour. For non-urgent calls and texts expect a call or text back within about 3 hours. These response times allow me to support you and other families, gather information, materials, resources and communicate with potential references for clients.
