I plan to give birth at Christiana Care in northern Delaware. I’d like to find a doula that takes my insurance and can provide the 3 prenatal, 3 postnatal visits and labor/delivery support. I’m going to be a first time, single mom by choice and am not sure who, if anyone, will be in the delivery room with me and I’d like an advocate and someone I trust to help support and help me understand what is going on and my choices in real time. I’ve also never given birth before so someone that can help me figure out what to expect, what should even be included in a birth plan and what choices or things I should consider. I’m an older mom so someone with alot of experience is appreciated, but I value personality matching and a good fit more. As a single mom I will be happy for any and all additional help someone can provide, I anticipate being very overwhelmed those first few weeks. In-Network with Highmark BCBS is a must. Unfortunately, I haven't received the prenatal care I needed for much of my pregnancy due to switching OB-GYNs and dealing with other challenges. As a result, I've often felt dismissed during appointments, and it's been difficult to feel heard or supported by my medical providers. I am doing an all natural birth in hospital, Vineland Inspira. only request will be laughing gas if needed. No birthing on my back no shots or eye cream for baby no wiping baby down. No cord cutting until it is white and not pulsing. I need an advocate and support for labor and delivery using horizon bcbs omnia insurance

I'm higher risk (advanced maternal age) and so definitely plan on a hospital birth. I'm looking for a doula, a night nanny and postpartum support. We are new to the area and don't have family or any support locally so we'll be relying heavily on our team for support. We're not sure on a budget, but are open to learning more. I'm only 11 weeks so I do not have a defined birth plan. Thanks!
