We are looking for someone to help us with overnight care for our newborn (feeding, diaper changes, soothing to sleep, sleep supervision and light cleaning duties such as bottle cleaning and keeping the nursery tidy). We are ideally looking for someone with at least 5 years experience looking after newborns. Our budget is $30/hour depending on background and experience.

Shift Objective Provide complete overnight care for the baby using frozen breast milk so Mom only wakes up for one single pump session around [e.g., 2:00 AM / 3:00 AM] and gets two long stretches of uninterrupted sleep. 1. Feeding with Frozen Milk Thawing Milk: Defrost frozen breast milk bags in the refrigerator or under cool running water as needed. Warm gently in warm water (do not microwave or boil). Schedule: Feed the baby on demand or every [e.g., 2.5–3 hours] using the thawed milk. Care Routine: Handle all burping, holding upright, diaper changes, and resettling in the nursery crib/bassinet. 2. The Single Overnight Pump Session Single Wake-Up ([e.g., 2:30 AM]): At the agreed time, gently wake Mom or bring her the electric pump setup. Collection & Storage: When Mom finishes, collect the freshly pumped milk. Pour it into breast milk storage bags, label with the date, time, and exact volume (oz/mL), and place flat in the freezer. Cleaning: Wash and sanitize the pump flanges and parts immediately after collecting them so they are ready for the morning. 3. End-of-Shift Hand-Off Night Log: Record all feed times, amounts consumed (from thawed milk), diaper changes, and sleep intervals. Inventory Check: Note how many frozen milk bags were used during the shift so Mom knows when to replenish the fridge/freezer stock. Morning Prep: Ensure all bottles, pump parts, and counter spaces are clean, sanitized, and organized for the morning.
