About me

Hi everyone, my name is Harley McIntyre and I am a certified birth doula and breastfeeding counselor in Jacksonville, FL. As a birth doula, my goal is to help combine evidence-based information and your birthing wish-list to give you a safe, empowering birthing environment. As a breastfeeding counselor, I recognize that every breastfeeding journey is unique and I am not one to shame mothers who use bottles or formula. I have had 2 very different breastfeeding journeys myself, one who exclusively nursed for over 2 years and one who is exclusively bottle/cup fed breastmilk.

I have completed my breastfeeding counselor and birth doula certifications through the International Doula Institute and have my B.S. in psychology and currently pursuing my master's in psychology. I combine my love for learning and helping others in the services I provide. I am a calm, patient, listening ear and shoulder to cry on. I am happy to dig for answers to your questions and concerns, share research and information with you to discuss with your healthcare team, and encourage you to have truly informed consent with medical decisions made for you and your baby.

Breastfeeding Counseling
In-person 30-60 minute consultation. Remote service is discounted to $15.00. I am not a medical provider and do not diagnose or treat you or your baby and may refer you to a licensed medical professional. I specialize in pumping and troubleshooting low supply. I can assist with teaching you different nursing positions to make you and baby more comfortable and how to get a good latch.

Birth Doula
As your birth doula, I provide unlimited phone, text, and email support from the signing of our contract through 6 weeks postpartum. I provide 2 prenatal visits, the birth, and 1 postpartum visit (this may be more or less depending on your insurance, if applicable). I accept Humana Medicaid. If you are on another Florida Medicaid plan I am happy to see if I meet their requirements as I have a current provider ID. If you are paying out-of-pocket, I offer payment plans and discounts to fit your budget, I reserve the right to ask for proof of financial need first.
