Hello! I'm a first-time mom who plans on giving birth at Cedar's Sinai, and would like to plan for a vaginal birth. I'm new to this whole process so am not sure exactly what I'll be needing and am mostly just curious if my insurance covers any doula care. My wife and I are looking for a newborn care specialist to assist us during the nights for our baby's first 6 weeks (potentially more depending on how it goes). 8 hours for 3 nights a week. Our budget is around $8k - $10k. Additionally, we could be interested in a post-partum doula during the day a couple of days at some point during the first couple of weeks. Our insurance reimburses us up to $2.5k so looking for someone that would fall within that budget.

We are looking for a live-in newborn care provider beginning in late December. Our main priority is overnight support so Mom can get adequate sleep. Duties would focus on feeding support, diapering, and soothing. Grandparents will help with meal preparation and laundry.
