My husband and I will forever be grateful to Janay for helping us get through the first few months of a newborn! Janay brought expertise, warmth, and patience to her role as a nighttime doula. Janay was a God-send in the newborn trenches! She was our night doula — she arrived at 10pm and left at 6am. She changed, fed and watched our baby while my husband and I were able to finally sleep. My husband and I waited for those days that Janay was here because we knew that we would finally get sleep lol.
Janay was flexible with our schedule as I gave birth earlier than my due date. She was very communicative about her schedule which was great. She even sent texts after he shift to give me a report of her last feeds, diapers and sleep which was super helpful.
The newborn weeks are hard enough while healing physically, transitioning into motherhood, deeply sleep deprived — all while battling postpartum depression. Janay was there and gave us a break when we desperately needed it. Would highly recommend!

We had the pleasure of working with Ja’Nay as our nighttime doula during the first 4.5 weeks after bringing our second child home, five nights a week. The experience was truly incredible. Ja’Nay was knowledgeable, kind, and deeply attentive to our newborn—especially during those critical early weeks of adjusting to life with two children. Ja'Nay was a wonderful night doula, with our daughter during our first 6 weeks transitioning to being a two kid household. She clearly adores babies, spending hours holding and talking to her at night when our daughter wouldn't sleep. Her communication was excellent, and she was always timely.
We have a toddler whose bedtime routine often intersected with the baby's space and Ja'Nay was incredibly sweet and accommodating with him, as well as the chaos of our household at the end of a day. We had a medical crisis in the family and had a few nights when multiple family members had to be in and out of our apartment, and Ja'Nay was incredibly flexible and empathetic.

Ja’Nay was empathetic, patient, and kind. I had a crazy work schedule when I was pregnant and she was very flexible and accommodating. While I was fortunate to have a straightforward birth for my 2nd delivery, there was one big decision point. Ja’Nay helped me process the trauma from my first birth in the prenatal sessions and then during the birth, she helped me ask for some time and space away from the nurses to really think about what I wanted for my 2nd birth. One thing that really stood out about Ja’Nay was that she stayed with us the first 12 hours after the baby was born, when she could have just left after the birth was over. She helped diaper the baby, helped with breastfeeding/latching and more.
In the post partum sessions, Ja’Nay would watch the newborn in the daytime while I got a task done, napped, or took a shower. She never pressured me to go faster and gave me the space to take my time and finish what I needed to.
I already knew Ja’Nay from the birth before she served as a night doula for our family, but it was still nerve wracking as a mother to leave my newborn in someone else’s care. That said, I am grateful I was able to get a full night’s sleep with Ja’Nay’s help and when I woke up the next morning I was reassured that she followed my instructions.
I recommend Ja’Nay as both a birth doula and a night doula.
