About me

Hello, I’m Ja’Neen Jenkins, MS, LPC, Doula & Founder of the Covered Mama Community. Based in the Shreveport–Benton area of northwest Louisiana, I specialize in trauma-informed birth support and integrative prenatal care that prepares your body and your nervous system for birth. With over 8 years of experience as a licensed therapist and doula, I merge mental-health awareness with the biomechanics of birth through the “Body Ready” method. I believe birth is more than the physical moment, it’s a profound transition that merits ritual, support, and preparation. My clients say they feel stronger, more grounded, and more connected with their partner and their baby when we finish our work together. Whether you are planning a low-intervention birth or simply want the confidence and calm that comes with deep preparation, I’m here to walk with you.

Covered Mama: Waiting Room (Prenatal Group)
Online event
Join a warm and supportive prenatal group designed for mothers who want education, community, and conversation throughout pregnancy. We meet once a month for a live virtual small group, and between sessions you’ll have access to our private online space where you can connect, learn, and stay supported throughout the month. You may submit questions in advance so I can make sure we cover the most important topics during our group time and if time allows, we will answer additional questions during the session as well. Come learn, prepare for birth, and enjoy real connection with other moms who are in your same season.
