I’m a first time, “advanced maternal age” mom. I’m not really sure what my birth plan is or what to expect. Most of my family and friends are all older moms so their idea of birth and newborns is somewhat older and I’m just wanting to make sure I have support as I’m scared and my boyfriend tries but he misses the mark a lot.
Care recipient: Newborn (due Nov 14, 2026, but will be 1-2 weeks early, as per Dr). Overall, I need pretty much assistance/an extra set of hands. My husband had shoulder surgery and has some health issues and works weird/long hours, so I can't have him help all the time. It wouldn't be a problem if it were just the baby, but I have a daughter (2 on 10/30/26). I think I would need help during late afternoons/bedtime in lieu of my husband being available, but what I'm thinking right now seems fluid. I have no idea what my budget is because my friend wants to gift this to me, so I am supposed to be getting quotes for her to review. I might need help with some light laundry, but maybe I can do that, and the helper can be with the baby instead. Again, I'm very new to this, so I'm not exactly sure what I need
