We're first-time parents expecting identical twin girls this fall and looking for an experienced doula to support us through this unique and beautiful journey! About our pregnancy: We're expecting dichorionic diamniotic (DCDA) twins with a due date of October 3, 2026. We'll most likely be delivering at Sutter Medical Center in Downtown Sacramento in the OR, as is standard for twin birth. Our birth plan is still taking shape, but we just want to feel safe and supported every step of the way. What we're looking for: Postpartum support is our biggest priority. Twin newborns are a full-time adventure so we want someone experienced with twins and supporting parents of newborn twins! Birth support is also important to us, and we'd love someone who is comfortable in an OR setting and familiar with both vaginal twin deliveries and C-sections (planned or emergency). About us: We're an AAPI family who practices Buddhism, though we welcome doulas of all backgrounds and beliefs. We're also both in the medical field so we're no strangers to clinical settings. That said, we're still first-time parents navigating something entirely new, and we'd love a doula who can be our advocate, translate the emotional side of this experience, and bring a calm, grounding presence when things get busy. I am looking for a care provider who can assist with both myself and my twin babies. A Vietnamese-speaking provider would be a huge plus! Key duties for the babies include bathing, hygiene care, daily personal care, baby massage, and gentle sleep training. For the mother, I would like postpartum recovery support and mother massage.

I’m planning on an unmedicated birth at Mercy Folsom in Folsom, CA. This is my first baby. I’ve been doing prenatal yoga, read books on unmedicated/home births, and my sister had her baby at home; but would love to have hands-on guidance from a doula and emotional and physical support during our birth. My husband is on board for helping however he can but will certainly need guidance as well. I’m comfortable self-advocating but would love to have someone with experience to consult with and lean on when questions and options come up during labor. We also recently discovered I have an accessory placenta which might need to be manually removed if it doesn’t come out with the main placenta. I would like to talk about options with that as well. My budget is no more than $2000 but ideally closer to $1500.

**Tamil Speaking Doulas required** We are an expecting family in the Sacramento area with Kaiser Permanente insurance, looking for a certified doula fluent in Tamil and English. I plan to give birth at Sutter Davis Hopsital. I am going to use my insurance for care. My goal is a calm, physiologic, and low intervention water birth. I understand that circumstances can change, and the safety of Isabella and myself comes first. I would like to use the birthing tub and plan to have a water birth if I remain an appropriate candidate. Before entering the tub, I want freedom of movement and access to a birthing ball. I want to follow my body’s cues for positioning, including side-lying, hands-and-knees, swaying, standing, or other positions that feel natural. I would like to drink fluids during labor when medically appropriate. No routine IV unless medically necessary. Wireless monitoring is strongly preferred when fetal monitoring is necessary and available. I want to allow my body to birth Isabella naturally and push according to my body’s instincts and coaching from my doula. Immediate chest-to-chest skin-to-skin. Uninterrupted bonding time for as long as we are comfortable. Allow Isabella the opportunity to self-latch and initiate breastfeeding while chest-to-chest. Delay routine weighing, measurements, medications, and other nonurgent newborn care until after our bonding time. Delayed cord clamping until the cord has stopped pulsating and appears white, when medically appropriate. My goal is exclusive breastfeeding. Requirements would be that they are certified and covered by Tricare. My insurance is Tricare West Region. TRICARE covers up to six hours of visits by a certified labor doula. These hours can be split into 15-minute increments any way you’d like. You also get one untimed visit during birth.
