About me

Hello, I'm Linda Hydro, PMHNP-BC, founder of Nurtured Balance Wellness. I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of experience caring for women and families, including over two decades in maternal-child health, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and women's wellness. I serve North Carolina, Washington and Arizona. My passion is supporting women through life's most meaningful transitions, including pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and motherhood. Having cared for women throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys, I understand the unique emotional, physical, and hormonal challenges that can arise during these seasons. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, intrusive thoughts, sleep difficulties, overwhelm, or simply not feeling like yourself, you do not have to navigate it alone. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based care. While I offer medication management when appropriate, I believe treatment should be individualized and not always start with medication. I take a holistic approach that considers lifestyle factors, sleep, stress, nutrition, hormonal changes, coping strategies, and personal preferences when developing a treatment plan. My goal is to help you make informed decisions and find the right balance for your unique situation. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where women feel heard, understood, and empowered. Through Nurtured Balance Wellness, I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for women through telehealth and in-person services in Cary, North Carolina. My goal is simple: to help you feel more like yourself again—so you can thrive, not just survive, during the moments that matter most.

Nurtured Balance is a perfect description of my experience with Ms. Hydro. I am one who reads reviews, not always write one.. My sessions with Ms. Hydro has motivated me to share the positive incredible Peace I have achieved since truly opening up to her . The level of professionalism she displays, coupled w her ease of listening provides me a safe space to be in and to return to. She provides me with tailored, practical and actionable guidance each session. She protects my peace in so many ways….. her compassion and insights allow me the ability to not feel judged or labeled by past traumas. The peace, clarity and balance that she has helped me restore to my inner self is something that, until you have experienced it, you can only hope for. I am especially thankful that she has a platform to help and support women like me. My journey through trauma, still present challenges , but knowing that she makes it a priority to listen and foster through discussion that . Which centers me on my most difficult days. Speaks volumes. Thank you Ms. Hydro for providing the type guidance that shows up, and allows me to see and feel the changes from within.

I had a really positive experience working with this psychiatric nurse practitioner. From the beginning, she created a comfortable and supportive environment where I felt heard and understood. Instead of immediately turning to medication, she took the time to explore my stressors and helped me develop practical, sustainable coping mechanisms. She introduced me to techniques that I could actually use in my daily life—things like mindfulness strategies, grounding exercises, and healthier ways to reframe overwhelming thoughts. What stood out most was her patience and willingness to tailor everything to what worked best for me personally, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Over time, I noticed a real improvement in how I handle stress. I feel more in control, more aware of my triggers, and better equipped to respond in a healthy way. I’m grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for thoughtful, non-medication-based support for stress management.

Finding the right mental health provider can be hard. I've struggled to find the right one. I am so glad that I found Linda. She made me feel safe, grounded and I didn't feel judged at all. She listened to me and I felt understood and seen. If you are looking for someone that gets it this is your place. The kind of care I received means more than words can fully capture. :)
