Hi mama! My name is McKenzie. While my official title is Birth and Postpartum Doula, I see myself more as an extra person in your village. We thrive in community, but as mothers? We flourish when supported by other women ("Two are better than one..." – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Outside of birth work, I am a wife, a mom of two young girls, and an avid crocheter. My own path to motherhood was a long journey marked by grief and disappointment— if you’ve ever been in that space, know that I see you. Since then, my passion has been teaching women about how their bodies work according to God’s design, navigating the unexpected, but most importantly, my passion is and always will be serving moms. Do you need 30 minutes to shower in silence? I’m there. Do you need someone to cook a hot, homemade meal so you can spend more time with your baby? I’ve got you. Do you need someone to decode medical jargon one minute and then immediately do hip squeezes and tell you how amazing you’re doing? I would love to. On the surface, I’m a doula who would love to help you through the journey of motherhood. But at my core? I’m just a mama who has been praying for the families who need a village to find me. I would be honored to serve yours.

I offer 3 main packages for birth and postpartum services. They are tiered to offer a wide range of support. I do offer a-la-carte services that can be added onto any package and I would be willing to work with you to modify packages in order to meet your needs.

Frequently asked questions

What does a doula do, and how is it different from a midwife or OB/GYN?

As your doula, my focus is entirely on physical, emotional, and informational support. While your doctor or midwife manages the medical safety of you and your baby, I am there continuously to focus on your comfort, advocate for your preferences, offer evidence-based information, and help you feel confident every step of the way. Doulas do not perform clinical tasks, perform exams, or give medical advice.

When should I hire a doula?

You can hire a doula at any point during your pregnancy! Most clients book during their second trimester (around 18 to 28 weeks) to reserve space on the calendar and allow plenty of time to build a comfortable relationship during prenatal visits.

Do you support hospital births, birth centers, or home births?

Yes! I support birthing families in all settings, including hospitals, accredited birth centers, and planned home births.

Will a doula replace my partner's role?

Not at all. As your doula, I support your partner, too. I help guide partners on how to provide physical comfort, reassure them throughout the process, and ensure they feel included and confident without the pressure of having to know everything about labor.
