Hello! My name is Crystal Strawn. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife in Arlington, Texas. I attend birth center births at Birth and Wellness Center of Arlington and home births throughout the DFW area. I have been a midwife since late 2021 with a 10 year history as a labor and delivery nurse prior to becoming a midwife. I am an advocate for natural, physiologic birth. I want each of my clients to feel heard, empowered, and supported throughout their pregnancy and birth. It is an absolute honor to walk alongside my clients throughout their birthing journeys. I was born and raised in DFW. My family and friends mean the world to me. Having a sense of community is so important. My favorite people in the world call me Aunt Dani! In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, practicing hot yoga, working out, going to church, and sewing. My faith has definitely helped shape me as a midwife. Hallowed means regarded as holy or sacred. To me birth is a very sacred experience that should be treated as such. Before stepping into the role of a midwife, I spent nearly three years as a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital setting. It provided me with a solid foundation and invaluable experience, but I slowly came to realize that my values did not align with the hospital culture. When I moved to San Diego in 2018 I decided to leave the hospital and pursue my dream of becoming a midwife. During my training I truly fell in love with home birth. Witnessing a baby enter this world in the very place they will grow up is an incredibly special and sacred experience that deeply touches my heart. During my midwifery training, I made the decision to move back to Texas, wanting to be closer to my family and friends. ​ After completing my midwifery education I began working at a birth center. The birth center was an amazing experience, but I am thrilled to embark on this next chapter of my career, returning to home births and reconnecting with families. This is where my true passion lies—to provide personalized, compassionate care that honors each family's unique needs and choices. While my family lived in South Africa(2018-2019), I was blessed to become a certified doula through their WOMBS (women offering mothers birth support) program. Along with in-person classes, I experienced hands-on doula opportunities with laboring women in 2 different hospital locations in Johannesburg. I believe this experience opened my heart to truly seeing the importance of having a strong support system during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. I’m Em - mama of many, wife to my best friend and new homestead-er. I created my photography business in 2018 not knowing exactly what I wanted to capture, I just knew I wanted to help those in my community save their memories for a lifetime. Fast forward to 2021, I attended my first birth, a sweet home birth. After that I know that birth work was exactly what I was looking for - it has become my passion. Hi! My name is Rebeca Gedeon and I am a certified birth doula located in Weatherford, TX. I love supporting moms in all labor and delivery locations, and with any kind of provider. My first experience with birth was when my mom delivered my brother under the supervision of a traditional midwife over 24 years ago. I have since had 6 children of my own, and those labors and deliveries fueled my passion for supporting moms. I have personal experience with twins and NICU. I have supported moms through their dream births as well as birth plans that needed adjustment for medically necessary reasons. One of my biggest strengths is supporting mom in what they wish, but also being able to slow down and explain what is going on if plans have to adjust rapidly. I will labor with you at home if you desire, even if you plan to transfer to another location, and I will follow you into the OR if needed and desired. I am not only a certified labor and birth doula, I have added training with body balancing techniques to help you and your body navigate labor. I am familiar with Spinning Babies techniques. I am a StillBirthday student doula. And I am currently in training to become a placenta encapsulation specialist. I am also a Christian doula and love to incorporate quiet prayer and intercession into my care when it is desired.
