My wife and I (LGBT) are expecting our first child on 6/10/2026, and plan to deliver at Brookhaven Midwifery in Harrisonburg, VA. I intend to labor at home alone in Monterey, VA, but would like a doula to meet us at the birth center, and to accompany us to the hospital in the event of a transfer.

I will be giving birth at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. I can not go over $2,000, and am hoping to spend less than that if I can! My birth plan includes a natural birth. Vaginally, with no epidural. I do NOT want to be induced unless it is literally life or death. I plan to move around and try several positions, and am very interested in a water birth. I am 26 years old and this is my first child so I would like someone to just give me advice and basically be there for me through this journey. I would like to give birth at a birthing center close to a hospital if I need to go to it, but I am not opposed to going to the hospital I just don't want to have the baby on my back. I would like an African American midwife. I know the risks that African American face, while giving birth, and I am 35 years old. I am considered a high risk pregnancy and want to be mindful of those things. I want to do a home water birth.

My partner and I are both sick and struggling to take care of our baby. She was sick but has recovered. I don’t know if you do overnight shifts for babies recovering from or who have just recovered from illness, or in homes where people are sick, but in case you do, I’m reaching out to see if you might be able to do an overnight shift tonight, tomorrow night, or both so my partner and I can try to rest and recover.
