In need of doula services for going into labor and delivery. Previous back surgery and hardware in my back yet I was able to deliver naturally with my first. It still was somewhat traumatic in a lot of ways like giving birth on my back, pain, blood loss and tearing. They kept me for almost 4 days to make sure I was okay. I came out of it pretty dizzy and almost fainting trying to walk to the bathroom. If there is any additional support I can get I need to try. Budget is around 500-1000. Hopefully insurance or payment plans are available. Im also looking for an acupuncturist to manage my pain. I have a toddler at home that will be missing her mommy if I cant show up for her and new baby as need be. Breastfeeding also puts me in severe pain with my back and I need to be able to manage it postpartum with continuing treatment. So far ive had medical massage 3 times with my pregnancy to manage my sciatica and it has helped immensely. Looking to expand on my pain management in these last 2 months and going forward with the right guidance and someone with years of experience.

Fairview Southdale hospital in Edina, MN is where I plan to give birth. I'll be having a TOLAC, and while I'd prefer to have an unmedicated birth, I am open to an epidural. My goal is a successful vbac that involves lots of movement and gets my baby earthside safely. My budget is $1500 maximum, but I would prefer to spend $1000-1200.

I will request it if I feel I need it. I plan to use non-medicinal methods (e.g., movement, shower/tub, breathing). Medical Interventions: Please use intermittent fetal monitoring to allow for maximum mobility. Avoid an IV/saline lock unless medically necessary. I prefer to avoid labor-augmentation medications (like Pitocin) and allow my labor to progress on its own, unless there is a medical emergency. Delivery and Postpartum Birth of Baby: I would like to push instinctively (no coached pushing/breath-holding). I want to be in the position of my choice (e.g., standing, hands-and-knees, side-lying). Cord Clamping: I request delayed cord clamping until the umbilical cord has stopped pulsating. Immediate Postpartum: Please place the baby immediately on my chest for uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact. I request that all routine newborn procedures, like weighing and measurements, be delayed until after the first hour of skin-to-skin time. Placenta: I would like to keep my placenta. Please place it in a provided container/cooler immediately after delivery. I prefer to deliver the placenta spontaneously without Pitocin, unless medically necessary for hemorrhage prevention.
