My goal is to have a natural vaginal birth without using an epidural. I have a Meridian Health plan. Looking for a postpartum doula to help after the baby is born for just 2-3 hours.

Since I live overseas and unable to fly out there for the time being to help her I’m trying to figure out a way I could be of any support for my sister even if I’m physically away. One of the few things could be to help find her an experienced doula since she and he husband are too busy looking after their baby and helping each other now. Not sure what kind of requirements my sister would need but based on my own experience when I had a doula here in Tokyo about 5 years ago I think someone definitely with certification and several years of experience would be a must, and also being able to cook and do basic house cleaning would be ideal. What’s average doula fee is like there? I only had one in Japan so have no idea.

My priorities are being able to move freely, delivering in the position I choose, delayed cord clamping, and keeping interventions minimal if everything is safe. I’d also love a calm, dark, peaceful environment. My pregnancy has IUGR, so there’s a chance I may need to deliver earlier than expected.
