Hi LaurieAnn, I am the adoptive mother of a baby due mid to late March. I’ve been searching for postpartum support without much luck. We live in Norwich (13815). I’m an older mom, 41, living with my husband and a few dogs. I had miscarriages but no deliveries due to premature ovarian failure. I am attempting to induce lactation and Upstate Breastfeeding medicine will see me, but not until February. I am new to the idea of having a doula. I would like to do more preparation work to hopefully have a smoother delivery. My first experience of childbirth, ended in a natural delivery that was forceps assisted, and I had 3+ hours of pushing before we decided between forceps or C section. I had to be induced after 11 days being overdue. I would hope that with this next pregnancy I can go naturally and have way less medications than I had the first time. I want to trust that my body knows what to do, but I need to help train it to achieve my goal.
