I'm looking for a postpartum doula to assist with newborn care in my home, located in the Valley Stream/Malverne area of Long Island. Doula expenses will be covered under the Carrot program made available through my employer, so I would need to have our doula pre-approved by filling out a short questionnaire. I would be paying the doula directly and then submit any costs for reimbursement. I will be giving birth in the hospital and may require a C-section, so I would be looking for home assistance once we are discharged and return home. I plan to combo feed (breastfeed/pump/formula). Hi - I spoke with my insurance Cigna and they confirmed I have 60 days per calendar year with 16 hours per day during this time for a postpartum home health care for me and my newborn. No prior authorization is required. They didn't call it a doula but they called it a PP home health care. They couldn't give me a list of eligible providers, I kept getting either a list of home health care providers (which included nursing homes or Lenox Hill Radiology) or OBGYNs. I would like to connect and discuss how we can work together.
