I am looking to have a hospital birth, but with as little intervention as possible. I want to be unmedicated, ability to labor and deliver on my side or all fours, I want to delay the cord cutting, no fundal massage, no cervical checks,, and I want to be able to retain my placenta. I believe a birth via OB would stop me from this.

I am trying to determine if I should invest in a doula. Plan for hospital birth. This is my second pregnancy- first was c section with twins. Currently pregnant with one child so plan for VBAC. Unsure of budget.

I am planning a natural and physiological approach to birth and desire midwives who are knowledgeable and fully supportive of that desire. True and genuine complications aside, I don’t want unnecessary interventions or checks and am hoping that there are midwives out there that are well suited for these wishes. I was originally set to deliver in the Bryn mawr lifecycle birthing center, but unfortunately they are shutting down their facility after almost 50 years. This caused me to have to change up my plans at 23 weeks pregnant. I feel very stressed about that considering I was looking forward to being out of the hospital. As someone who is low risk, I’m still hoping I can have my dream birth even if that means being in the hospital.

I am a 40 year old, pregnant for the first time. Other than my “advanced age” I’m otherwise very healthy. Normal BMI, active, no preconditions. I would like to have a relaxed, minimally medicalized, minimally invasive birth but due to my age, I fear that will be not respected.
