I’m in need of a doula who can help me prepare my body for and give a natural birth. This is my fourth child. I have fibromyalgia and each of my children was born in a hospital with an epidural. I would like to avoid having to do that. There is a slight risk of shoulder distocia but I’ve only had an issue with the first child because the doctor panicked and ended up breaking my son’s arm. The other two were delivered healthy with no issues. I’m good with staying active and eating pretty healthy. My third child was actually delivered in a triage room with no Ob or doctor present. He was delivered by six nurses and a lactation consultant. I have superior Medicaid and I’m having to find a doctor late due to moving around too much.

I plan to give birth at UMC Hospital. I hope i can find a doula that is either covered by pregnancy medicaid or Walmart BCBS. I want to go for an all natural birth as much as possible and get tips about what I can do to prepare for it. I dont have a full birth plan but I want to give birth on all fours and with no pitocin. This is also my first child and I accept that I might want the epidural but i will decide when the day comes and what my pain level is.
