My birth plan consists of having a low calming environment. I prefer things to go as smoothly and safe as possible.

Dear Pippa, My husband Sam and I are expecting our second child in mid September of this year. Sam will take off one week to ten days for paternity leave and then another week or so later in the year. We have a two year old son (Hugo) who will be in school from 8:30 to 1:30 Monday through Friday. I would like to speak with you about our specific needs, but I think it would be something like three days for five hours in the first week I’m home from the hospital, five days for five hours the next week, and then maybe two or three days for four hours the week after that. Hello, I am looking for an at home as holistic as possible birth. I already have a 10 year old I am now 35. First pregnancy was amazing everything went well. Vaginal birth. I do not make a lot of money so of ours if insurance pays it would be ideal but I have to explore to see how much it would be so I can start to save now!

I would love a homebirth but do not have the financials for a midwife. I am currently getting care through Stonybrook, however I want to switch to either NUMC or Huntington if I cannot figure out the homebirth situation. I want a doula IN PERSON regardless for support but more so if I am in the hospital. This is my 3rd pregnancy. My first was an unnecessary C-section. My second was a VBAC that I had to fight for. I am not religious.
