I am planning a home water birth in the Hudson Valley (Orange County, NY). I am looking to build an all-Black birth team, including a Black licensed midwife and a Black doula, as culturally responsive care is very important to me. My goal is a calm, low-intervention, unmedicated water birth at home with continuous support, informed consent, and respectful care throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I would like support with comfort measures, advocacy, emotional support, and breastfeeding/lactation guidance after birth.
We are having a second child, due in mid-March 2027. Looking for infant care support overnight for 3 or 4 nights per week for 3-4 months in our home. Ideally would include: diapering, feeding, and helping baby to go to sleep, simple tidying and baby-related support duties.
